Reputational Risk and Supply Chain Integrity: The integrity of, and the management of risks in, the supply chain is critical for every industry. This is an example of where reputational risk is especially critical, as it is throughout the fashion industry. Relabelling the source of origin of your fashion products could be a fatal move and destroy the reputation of an well established fashion brand. In this example, it is still not clear if the mislabelling took place due to poor governance. This use case shows that these issues are components of the Environmental, Social and Governance profile of the supply chain, which should be managed on an ongoing basis using curated, high quality continuous monitoring.

Here are things that I’ve learned about sourcing: In these 20 years, I have realized that sourcing can make or break your apparel brand. Today, I am sharing with you all 7 apparel sourcing tips that you must keep in mind: 1. Define your requirements precisely - Fabric type, quantities, and cost constraints should be clearly outlined. This clarity prevents headaches down the line. 2. Vet your suppliers thoroughly - Check their credentials, visit facilities, and assess ethical practices. Trust is paramount in enduring partnerships. 3. Iterate relentlessly - Prototyping and feedback loops enable continuous refinement. Don't settle until the material aligns with your vision. 4. What clothes are you wearing right now? Do you know who made them? Or how, where, or under what conditions? If the answer is no, you’re not alone. Fashion’s supply chain is a wide-reaching, complex, fragmented network of processes, countries, and individuals that is so convoluted and opaque that many brands can’t answer these questions either, even about their own products. 🔎 Click to read our newest Remake story: https://lnkd.in/gUQsUmuD
