NSRP conducted a Technology Investment Plan (TIP) workshop on 24-26 January 2023 to identify high priority issues and current industry challenges where research proposals would be of particular interest to the program. The workshop attendees included a cross-section of highly-experienced shipbuilders and repairers from the member shipyards, along with senior government representatives from the Navy’s Program Executive Offices, the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) NSRP Program Office, and NAVSEA headquarters and field unit staffs. 💪Around the Command | #NAWCAD's Human Systems Engineering department recently hosted counterparts from Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division for a tour of our labs, an overview of our research focus areas, and to kick off future warfare center collabs. NAWCAD heads to Dahlgren to check out its capabilities and get to work on joint projects that support defense warfighters in the air, on the surface/sub-surface, and on land. 👂What is Human Systems Engineering? At NAWCAD, any system or equipment that touches the human has a lab and supportive engineers associated with it focused on improving design for greater safety and warfighter effectiveness. 👀Have a look inside NAWCAD's 40+ labs dedicated to advancing human systems for #NavalAviation and our warfighters here: https://lnkd.in/eD_Pdj5F #IAmNavalAviation #CiviliansBehindSailors #NavalSafety #NavytheNationNeeds

Roll FIS Green! Just like the Wasp ARG - 24th MEU (SOC) is a Team of Teams, there is a constellation of training organizations that support the development of integrated naval warfighting teams. After the WSP ARG - 24th MEU (SOC) team finished COMPTUEX recently, the ships across the ARG completed a Live Fire With a Purpose (LFWAP) missile exercise to sharpen their warfighting edge. Check out the article here: https://lnkd.in/dgEFCEhx Since early 2016, Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) has led a revamped missile exercise program across all Commander Naval Surface Force Atlantic and U.S. Naval Surface Force ships. While not a CSG-4 or CSG-15 mission set, these LFWAP exercises are just one of the many training events throughout a workup cycle that support stronger, more capable integrated naval warfighting teams.

Throwback Thursday- 📍 W-174 Range, Irusina Island, Okinawa, Japan On January 13, 2015, U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Craig Lewis, a communications chief with the 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, used two stacked devices, the Joint Terminal Attack Controller laser targeting device, and the PAS-25 (a thermal optic), to see at night. Marines effectively combine the devices' capabilities to mark targets at night with a laser for precision targeting. 5th ANGLICO continues to train and conduct operations alongside regional allies and partners within the adversary weapons engagement zone, performing fires, liaison, and combined arms capabilities while keeping pace with modern battlefield realities.
