The Mission Definition Review of the Multi-Purpose Habitation Module (MPH) is a key milestone that marks the evolution of the first permanent module, destined for human life on the Moon’s surface. The review has gathered program representatives from Thales Alenia Space, the Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, and NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration as part of the future Moon’s ecosystem and a potential addition to the #Artemis Campaign. The module is indeed aimed at extending the duration of the human mission on the moon’s surface, creating a safe environment where astronauts can find resources and protection, fundamental for life on our satellite. MPH's presence on the lunar surface will also enable new scientific discoveries and boost our knowledge and the technologies needed to support humans on #Mars and beyond. Thales Alenia Space, as the leading industrial partner in this unprecedented endeavor, coordinating a highly qualified national supply chain, is putting in place its know-how and experience gathered over more than 40 years in the fields of space exploration and human space flight to overcome challenges by proposing cutting-edge but reliable technology. MPH goes along with other vital elements for the future human presence on and around the Moon, and Thales Alenia Space is proudly contributing to the #ESA European Service Module of #Orion and three of the main elements of the Gateway, the upcoming orbiting station around our satellite: HALO, Lunar I-Hab, and Lunar View. Furthermore, the company's teams are already studying future logistic and vehicle solutions to foster a sustainable human presence on the moon’s surface. The Mission Definition Review of MPH is just a small, yet very significant, step towards the definition of a real Moon ecosystem.
