At some of the best restaurants and bars across Boston, those with a golden invite gather at corner tables and in private rooms. Yet, for the top Democrats whose campaigns pay the tabs, permissive state campaign finance laws not only can create what one expert described as a “personal slush fund,” but also furnish a key means for maintaining power and control over their rank-and-file members, former lawmakers say.

FARE Idaho wants to make sure that restaurants and bars are aware of Senate Bill 1381 regarding liquor license legislation and the impacts to resort cities. FARE Idaho has not taken a stance on this legislation, but wanted to share the bill information. Senate Bill 1381 Statement of Purpose: "Idaho’s liquor license quota system is based on a city’s residential population. In resort cities, where populations fluctuate widely based on tourism, residential population is a poor measure of the actual number of people in town at a given time. This bill would create a resort city restaurant liquor license, allowing up to three additional liquor licenses for restaurants in resort cities, subject to approval by the city. The majority of the restaurant’s revenue must be from food, and liquor may only be sold during the hours food is served." Learn more about SB 1381 at: https://lnkd.in/gF9_-ZYg

The California AG’s office recently clarified the hidden fee law (SB 478), now in effect. A last-minute amendment (SB 1524) exempts certain businesses from including mandatory fees in displayed prices but requires clear disclosure by July 1, 2025. This change is expected to lead to increased litigation and enforcement. See Donnelly McDowell's and Beth Chun's latest Ad Law Access article for updates and clarifications on California's Junk Fee Statute: https://lnkd.in/emZfwJFi #ConsumerProtection #CaliforniaLaw #junkfees #hiddenfees Kelley Drye & Warren LLP Kelley Drye Advertising Law

Cost Segregation Expert + R&D Tax Credits + Energy Tax Certifications + other engineered tax solutions
Delayed posting: Last month we enjoyed sipping quality bourbon at our private Skyline Bourbon Club. If you seen these posts before, you may not know its a zero script, one take shoot. No retakes or do-overs unless I have a major flub... Last month, my good friend and client Javier Hinojo was in town, and was able to join us. Javier has blogs, a Mastermind group, etc. So I asked if he would like to do a quick video on what cost segregation means to him and his clients. What I did not expect, was a great testimonial to me and our firm. So what does that mean? It is imperative that if you need the specialty tax services, work with a person/firm that is attentive, responsive and knowledgeable. Client service is very important to ELB and me. Javier also outlined how our cost segregation studies have significantly reduced his and his investor clients federal taxes, allowing them to reinvest their own money, versus depending on the folks in Washington, D.C. to make those decisions for you. One of the key benefits of owning/investing in commercial real estate! Thanks to Brian Luce my co-founder and our host; Patrick Finn, CPA my nephew, camera man and first time visitor; Anik Mukheja, CFA another client who could join us; and the many other friends and clients who join us and bring tasty bourbons to add to our monthly collection. And of course Javier for his great testimonial and business. #costsegregation #depreciation #bonusdepreciation #clienttestimonial #commercialrealestateinvesting #commercialrealestateinvestors #multifamilyinvesting #cre #taxincentives #taxincentive #taxdeductions #shorttermrentals #flexspace #selfstorageinvesting
