Generative AI Specialist | AI & Data Science Specialist | Business Development & Innovation Expert | Motivational Leader & Eco-Leadership
As I wrapped up the strategy development for a non-profit organization, an intriguing coincidence occurred: I was invited by Valentin Makarov, President of RUSSOFT, to spearhead the creation of an AI Committee within the organization. For those unfamiliar, RUSSOFT is the most influential association of software development companies in Russia, uniting around 400 IT companies with a workforce of over 85,000 highly skilled professionals. This was a period before GPT-3 had emerged and before AI technology had become a buzzword in Russia. In my role as the Deputy Chair of the AI Committee at RUSSOFT, I embarked on a mission to strategize the popularization of AI across Russia. This was a significant endeavor, as at that time, many commercial organizations in Russia were hesitant to implement AI solutions. My responsibilities included participating in the expert assessment and approval process for new AI-related standards (GOSTs). Interestingly, I discovered that the methodology I developed for the non-profit sector could be adapted and applied in this new context as well. The role required me to delve deep into an extensive regulatory framework and understand the interactions between various system participants: governmental bodies regulating AI activities (through policy documents and support measures), companies producing AI-based software, the educational system training AI specialists (universities, state courses, private organizations), companies consuming AI solutions, media outlets publishing AI-related content, and business incubators and accelerators with programs for AI solution startups. This period was a fascinating journey of seeing the system as a whole, at the national level. I gained insights into how its elements interact, and why they do so in their particular ways, identified weaknesses and areas for imminent development, and had the opportunity to meet leaders of major organizations in the field. Through this role, I not only contributed to the AI landscape in Russia but also enriched my understanding and appreciation of the intricate web of AI's influence and potential. It was a period of immense learning and growth, and I look forward to sharing more insights from this experience. #AI #RUSSOFT #StrategyDevelopment #InnovationInTech #LeadershipInAI #AICommittee #ArtificialIntelligence #TechLeadership #RussianIT #GOSTStandards #AIRegulation #DigitalTransformation #TechCommunity #AIInRussia #PublicPolicy #TechEducation #BusinessIntelligence #SystemThinking #ProfessionalGrowth #AIInsights #TechCollaboration #AIStandardization

There are six approaches offer in McKinsey article "AI for social good: improving lives and protecting the planet" to support AI development for social good. Mission driven organizations, governments, foundations, universities, businesses, and other stakeholders can implement these approaches to support the use of AI for social good. 1. Forming partnerships to accelerate impact. AI applications may be developed by researchers or tech companies but require a frontline nongovernmental organization (NGO) to adopt them for impact; partnerships can bring these groups together to get solutions to the front line faster. 2. Supporting the development of digital public goods. Digital public goods can include models, software, standards, content, and data intended to contribute to sustainable development. Existing AI for SDG initiatives have demonstrated that data collected by governments, telecom companies, technology companies, utilities providers, and content creators, as well as AI models themselves, can be harnessed for sustainable-development efforts. 3. Bolstering quality and usability of data. It is particularly critical to support data collection in resource poor contexts and for disadvantaged populations, and to create incentives for organizations with rich data sets to make them available for social good applications. 4. Expanding the pool of AI for SDG talent. Several large companies—including Google, Microsoft, and Two Sigma—have used their data science talent for social endeavors by loaning or seconding talent to other organizations or allocating time for them to work on social good projects. DataKind, a global not-for-profit, works to make these loaning efforts possible by pairing global data science talent with projects. Additionally, Data.org launched the Capacity Accelerator Network (CAN), with the goal of training one million data practitioners around the world by 2032. 5. Taking an inclusive, user-centric approach. Incorporating users from the beginning can build trust with communities and help ensure users are receptive to solutions. It also helps organizations avoid spending development time and costs on solutions that do not fully meet user needs. 6. Creating a ‘business model’ (where applicable). Some not-for-profit organizations have created business models that supplement or offset fundraising requirements by establishing continual-revenue streams—either through direct technology or by providing platforms for local entrepreneurship. #AIForGood #SocialImpact #SustainableDevelopment #SDGs #TechForGood #AI #Innovation #Partnerships #DigitalPublicGoods #DataScience #TalentDevelopment #UserCentricDesign #Nonprofit #BusinessModel #Collaboration #SocialEntrepreneurship

With a young population and a tech-driven mindset, India has a huge potential to leverage AI for not only economic but societal benefits. To become an AI-first nation, we must empower our citizens with essential AI skills. I'm really hoping to see collaboration between public and private sectors to build grassroots AI fluency, enhance government knowledge, and most importantly, prepare organizations with a future-ready workforce. Initiatives like SEEDS educating communities on heat waves and Farmvibes.AI supporting farmers showcase AI's transformative impact. By investing in education and fostering diverse talent, we can drive sustainable growth and put India ahead.
