People with disabilities often face higher rates of mental health issues yet encounter significant barriers to accessing care. This #DisabilityPrideMonth we celebrate the lived experiences of our disabled community members and acknowledge the disparities in care access that many Americans living with disabilities face. Many older adults have disabilities that make them more susceptible to abuse. This #ElderAbuseAwarenessDay, let's learn the signs and pledge to help: ⚠️Isolation: Does the elder seem withdrawn or unable to see friends/family? ⚠️Financial Exploitation: Are there unexplained changes in spending habits? ⚠️Neglect: Is the home unsafe or are basic needs unmet? ⚠️Physical/Emotional Abuse: Look for signs of injuries, fear, or depression.
