“Life is what happens when you are busy making plans” – Derek Jeter It was a lot of fun tuning in to hear Jeter and Strahan discuss their illustrious careers, triumphs on and off the field, and important lessons they learned along the way. The Postgame: Cultivating a Legacy Off the Field with New York Legends Derek Jeter and Michael Strahan was an amazing event Rockefeller Capital Management hosted! My favorite segment was on leadership. When Greg Fleming asked the most important quality of leadership, the two answered: - Strahan: Lead by example. - Jeter: Take the time to get to know the people you are leading. Tailor your leadership style based on personality.
What does it mean to build an enduring legacy? We were pleased to host Derek Jeter and Michael Strahan – legendary New York athletes, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists – for an exclusive evening with our clients and friends at our headquarters in 45 Rockefeller Plaza. In conversation with our CEO, Gregory J. Fleming, Derek and Michael shared the pivotal moments and transitions throughout their careers, their blueprint for leading teams to greatness, and their historic impact on and off the field.

A really insightful and educational talk today from Baroness Catherine Ashton. Lessons to be learned for all about the art of negotiation, active listening, being true to your values and not pre-judging others.
It was fantastic to welcome Baroness Catherine Ashton back on to campus today as part of our 90th anniversary celebrating our move to Ormskirk. Cathy gave an insightful talk about her career – looking at what worked, what didn’t, and how it felt to play a part in tackling some of the major international crises of our times. #WeAreEHU #EdgeHillUniversity

Today in Crain's Chicago Business, our vice chairman Charles Smith and Glenn Eden, chair of Choose Chicago wrote of a shared-perspective that is as compelling as it is true: Chicago is in the midst of a renaissance. Our world class industries, economy and wealth of meaningful partnerships put us in prime position to cross the finish line every time. What gets us there, however, is a mindset of resilience and a spirit to win. Read the full Op-Ed: https://bit.ly/3zohHDM

Embarking on a Capital Raise for my "Billion Dollar Thing" | Creating The Future of Ent Sustainability | Historically Accurate Edu Impact Experience Park | Helping Legends CRE8 Eternity | buildspace 🏡EREVALD 💚
Throughout my career, I’ve endeavored to be a genuine force for good, fostering connections and supporting others in their aspirations. I’ve served as a catalyst for growth, often for those who have not reciprocated the support. To those who resonate with our values, I extend a warm invitation to collaborate. However, it has become clear that not everyone shares this ethos of mutual upliftment. As I embark on an ambitious project to build a legacy in Williamson County, my focus is on those who genuinely contribute. This initiative isn’t just about business; it’s about creating a transformative impact, shattering longstanding barriers for minority business owners, and redefining wealth creation. Moving forward, my commitment is to those who are dedicated and loyal. If our paths align, I welcome your partnership. For those who are here merely as spectators, I respect your choice, but our journey together ends here. I am grateful for those who have stood by me, and as we progress, the doors remain open for the earnest and the driven. For those who haven’t been present in the building phase, the celebration of our success will not be shared. My gratitude extends to all who have been offered a chance to be part of this venture. Now, we turn our focus to the future, to the real work of bringing Haunted Texas to life—a testament to our collective vision and perseverance. #IntegrityInLeadership #AuthenticConnections #EmpireBuilding #InnovativeLegacy #SupportiveCommunity #StrategicPartnerships #EconomicEmpowerment #MinorityBusinessGrowth #WilliamsonCountyInnovation #HauntedTexas

Excited to share the op-ed that Daphne Bond-Godfrey and I co-authored in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution titled "Intentionality is key to creating equitable opportunity within commercial real estate". In this article we touch on the importance of doing our part to shape the future of the built environment, work that directly aligns with the Urban Land Institute and Baker Tilly US’s commitments to DEI, stewardship and social impact. As we think about shaping the future our industry, its imperative that we commit to addressing the lack of diverse representation in commercial real estate. For me, two areas of focus are creating onramps for diverse talent into the industry, and identifying ways to democratize access to capital for diverse developers and asset managers. Every day, I am energized by the opportunity to lead the DevelUP platform, an extensive ecosystem comprising hundreds of multidisciplinary stakeholders from across the nation. Their shared commitment to enhancing our industry fuels our collective progress. I am deeply grateful for this journey and the inspiring change-makers I have encountered along the way. I am grateful for ULI Atlanta leadership - Daphne Bond-Godfrey, Amanda Rhein, and Tyrone Rachal, and DEI Committee co-chairs Keith Mack and Quinn Green, MBA for their vision, courage and commitment to this work, as well as my Baker Tilly colleagues Don Bernards, Todd Carpenter, Nuwandi Trahan, CPA, and Tracey B. Nguyen. The work is never finished, and I am excited to see all we accomplish together. #Atlanta #Economicdevelopment #ULI #DevelUP #Buildingequityfromthegroundup #collaboration #socialimpact #DEI #furthertogether #inclusiveleadership #talentdevelopment #accesstocapital
