The multi-national RESOLVE-AF trial enrolled its first patient in the EU today as Dr. Max Liebregts and Dr. Lucas Boersma completed the first case at St. Antonius Hospital Nieuwegein, The Netherlands. Boersma, the European PI for the international trial said, “I’m excited to participate in this study to evaluate Cortex’s EGF mapping as a promising approach to identify extra-pulmonary vein EGF sources and their phenotypes." RESOLVE-AF is a prospective, international, multi-center trial to evaluate the use of the OptiMap™ System and OptiMap™ Catheter to identify extra-pulmonary vein EGF sources and their phenotypes. #EPeeps, #AFablation

The #FFRangio System continued to generate buzz and excitement during another action-packed day at #EuroPCR. There was a constant stream of keen physicians experiencing a hands-on demo at the Medtronic Cardiac and Vascular booth and the CathWorks FFRangio technology was featured in two highly anticipated clinical presentations.   Firstly, by Dr. Kazuhiro Dan’s from Ichinomiyanishi Hospital presented an abstract entitled ‘Comparison between FFRangio sizing tool and IVUS imaging measurements for PCI’. Dr. Dan’s study results demonstrated that the FFRangio Sizing Tool measurement has a high degree of correlation in lesion length and diameter compared to IVUS. It's a week of firsts for us! The first patient has been treated in our first clinical trial, run in cooperation with Hirslanden Klinik St. Anna, with PI PD Dr. Sebastian Kos, EBIR FCIRSE and investigators Dr. Arne Fischmann and Dr. Wiebke Schuler.   Approved by Swissethic, the trial will investigate the use of the #CubeNavigationSystem as a navigation support for out of plane interventions.   The trial aims to enroll 20 patients needing CT-guided, percutaneous punctures who will receive treatments using the Access Cube. The study discovered that routine clinical evaluations of medical images often result in an overdiagnosis of progressive disease in cancer patients, contrasting with the formal RECIST 1.1 assessments.  For the patients participating in clinical trials and those receiving standard care, this discrepancy could mean premature termination of effective treatments, potentially affecting their chances of a positive outcome.  I am excited that Mint Medical's software #mintLesion has played a crucial role in this study, providing the platform for the RECIST-based formal evaluations. The RECOVER IV trial halted in the wake of the positive results of the DanGer shock trial. The DSMB recommended halting any further enrolement due ethical concerns of randomizing patients with Acute MI cardiogenic shock when a similar study (DanGer shock) showing positive results with the use of Impella. May be the next step is to conduct a randomized trial with tMCS (Impella CP) in Heart Failure Cardiogenic shock.
