Who's in Your Wallet? #CriminalJustice #Violence #Recidivism Is this a criminal justice issue? Did former President Trump commit or conspire to commit crimes? The legal system, generally, decides to prosecute cases prosecutors believe can be won. If he did actually commit the crimes he's accused of, what are your beliefs? Should he be held accountable? No man is above the law has been the rule. He has trial court hearings scheduled. Are these trials the result of political opposition? Donald Trump says that President Joe Biden orchestrated the charges. Is that propaganda or is it true? That's a lot to think about because that in itself would be a huge criminal justice issue. One side believes this, the other side believes that. Do you believe it's okay to tear down the walls of justice to get your desired election outcome? You see where I'm going with this. It's all about beliefs. Your beliefs. My beliefs. We have a need for validation. We need confirmation that we are correct. Maybe it's more true, to get confirmation that we can't possibly be wrong. Bias confirmation - self-confirmation that I am right. Heads or tails. We've got a 50-50 chance we are right or wrong. Swing states are important. What could swing your state of mind? Good analysis by the Wall Street Journal of the USA’s current #political climate in the wake of the attempted #assassination of former President Trump. Both parties need to dial down their rhetoric for the good of the democracy. Numerous historians, political scientists, and so many others are warning us-- the former president's own words (repeated in public quite often) and actions must be taken seriously-- like Hitler, he does indeed tell us what he intends to do. It matters not that any aspirant to any political office is a Republican, Democrat, or Independent (or claims adherence to one of these groups)-- the constant threats and the normalization of violence is never (or should never be) acceptable. VOTE. It may not be a great choice, possibly, next November-- but if the former president should gain power again, we will likely lose our democracy. Historians have seen this show so many times before and it does not end well. VOTE.

I was on the Mike Ghallager show (AM 600); I was made fun of because I predicted that Trump would not leave office; never, if re-elected. They ridiculed me by jesting that Trump and his family would hold off others or prevent people from forcibly removing him from office by wielding guns; possibly a “pop gun.” That’s not how it works. Trump will propagate the same lie that Trump and Gallagher are propogating now: that the election was “stolen,” invoking his “emergency powers” to issue a stay until things can be “sorted out.” It’s the same thing that Castro did in Cuba after promising to hold elections, reneging on the same, while permanently depriving the people of their right to vote (what good would it do if every election will be deemed to have been “stolen” unless Trump wins?) The strategy will be to install “yes” men and women in the most pivotal and powerful positions of government: Justice; the Courts; the military, and so on. Trump has already let us know who he is. All I can say is, having experienced dictatorships, the American people are in for a big surprise. And the few who do know that he’ll refuse to step down are attempting to curry favor with the possible “future administration” in order to gain some sort of advantage.

JAMES CARVILLE TO HOUSE REPUBLICANS: BRING IT ON! James Carville, a noted political analyst, says forthrightly that he wants the Republicans to hold impeachment hearings. Why? He has multiple reasons, including: the Republicans like Jim Jordan will show themselves for the "stupid" people they are; the Democrats like Dan Goldman and Jaime Raskin will show America that unlike the Republicans, the Democrats are intelligent; there is nothing more the Republicans can do to embarrass Hunter Biden so Americans will hear the same old same old; and, most importantly, Republicans will show the impeachment hearings for what they truly are -- political blunders -- as the Republicans fail to produce any evidence that Joe Biden committed what American voters would call a high crime or misdemeanor that supports impeachment of a president.
