Mmm … I see a crazy anti-China hysteria, whereby, in the name of national security, the US bans everything from China where the US can no longer compete, because „our data gets sent to the CCP“: Video & network systems, drones, even harbour cranes & TikTok (but iPhones are fine…). The absurdity of this „patriotism“ was exposed when the Pentagon was unable to buy some gear they wanted, because all the makers were sanctioned by the government. The US seems unable to make this stuff at a price & quality that buyers will accept. I don‘t have much hope for the IRA & CHIPS Act plants: I only see delays, high costs & lack of skilled workers.
