If Russia is to follow (and they will follow) the preposterous Israeli (and Western) logic of self-defense following an indiscriminate attack on civilians (which applies to 7 October and to the attack of 30 December in Belgorod), then we must expect a massive retaliatory Russian bombardment of much more civilian targets across the Ukraine in the few days and weeks to come. By unconditionally supporting Israel in its war crimes, the United States, Germany and the UK have done a disservice to Russia to justify its destruction in the Ukraine on the basis of civilians killed on Russian territory.
To repeat what Antonio Guterres has been tirelessly preaching: Context matters (Israeli apartheid and occupation in Palestine vs. Russia aggression in the Ukraine) and international humanitarian law matters in any armed conflict! This applies equally to all states, except for Israel, the United States, its puppets in Germany and the UK, and Russia of course.
Interesting to see how easy it was for Ukraine to open its ranks to foreigners, yet cannot generate the political will to mobilize its own people. For a nation fighting for its life, Ukraine is pursuing a bold manpower strategy. Let’s see how that plays out against the bottomless pit of manpower Russia will put into the fight.

U.S. Sect. of State Blinken's words on Wednesday in Prague were clear. More importantly, Thursday May 30, POTUS Joe Biden has given Ukraine the go-ahead to use American weaponry to strike inside Russia, "for the limited purpose of defending Kharkiv", according to two U.S. officials familiar with the matter. https://lnkd.in/eAaZdtqv
A major shift in the war is underway. The attacks by Russia on Kharkiv exposed more than the weakness of Ukraine defenses. It showed that all that $ sent into Ukraine in the last few years has NOT gone to defense.
Meanwhile, Zelensky has not come up with the fresh 500,000 troops - bc young people refuse to fight for a corrupt oligarchy nor for Zelensky who is increasingly seen now as an illegitimate president - his term ended last week, but he declared war powers (after previously shutting opposition parties).
Nevermind that, the EU leaders are talking more about conscription.
The chorus of UK leaders and media lackies are saying Ukraine needs to "defend itself". But targeting deep inside Russian territory could be easily defined as "offense". It's certainly stepping up the conflict.
Never underestimate the importance of words.
You can argue over the origins of the war, Putin's real motives, or even if Ukraine has the 'right' to attack deep inside Russia as a defensive measure, etc.
But aside from that, these types of long-range missile strikes would be tantamount to a direct attack by NATO members deep inside on Russian territory.
In an era of police actions and proxy wars, when wars are no longer 'declared' openly, this is essentially the U.S. outsourcing the decision to enter into a more direct conflict with Russia to Ukraine (which is not even a formal ally of the U.S.).
Chamberlain was lambasted for claiming to have secured "Peace in Out Time". However, the Western 'elites' in the EU and DC, along with the military-tech-industrial complex, seem committed to ensuring "War in Our Time".
Buckle up. The ground war in Europe has no end in sight and tensions in the South China Sea are hyper-escalated.

The reason for the Korea Stalemate in 1953 was China amassed troops at the northern border of Korea, ostensibly to help the communists. That was an example of war by proxy.
Today we are fighting Russia, Iran, and Iran's own terrorist proxies, by proxy, via Ukraine and Israel.
What if we helped our allies with food and medicines instead, our closest with intelligence, but not with weapons? What if we admitted that taking other countries' assets by force constitues theft that would eventually set most of the world against us? Tariffs so high they constitute sanctions at the level of economic blocs?
Who gave us the right to threaten other nations who refuse to honor the sanctions the U.S. puts in place? Why are we comfortable calling Russia's leader a murderer and Japan xenophobic?
Realize that America today is not only weakening, but the rest of the world is getting stronger and standing up for themselves and their sovereignty. We are become the common problem of most of the world with our hubris, hegemony, SWIFT and US$ dominance. The world sees it as the problem it is for them, and they are moving to countenance all that. First in economic terms, ultimately in military terms.
We need leaders whose eyes are open, not geriatrics whose brains have been petrified stiff by the cold war...~r

US does not encourage, enable strikes outside Ukraine's borders, official says
"We always discuss with our allies and partners whatever is on their mind and we have those meetings," US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said
WASHINGTON DC, May 29/ Washington continues to pursue a policy of neither encouraging nor enabling strikes outside Ukraine's borders, US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller told reporters at a briefing.
"Our policy has been that we don't encourage or enable strikes outside Ukraine's borders," he said with regard to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s suggestion that allies should once again consider the possibility for Ukraine to use Western-supplied weapons to target military facilities inside Russia. "We always discuss with our allies and partners whatever is on their mind and we have those meetings but I don't have anything further," Miller noted.
He added that "the Ukrainian military is not embedding itself inside malls and schools and other civilian targets."
Meanwhile, US media outlets have repeatedly reported the opposite. The Washington Post wrote in March 2022 that "Ukrainians are confronting an uncomfortable truth: the military’s understandable impulse to defend against Russian attacks could be putting civilians in the crosshairs." A female resident of the town of Chasov Yar told CNN in March 2024 that Ukrainian troops were hiding behind "civilians’ backs." Amnesty International said in a report in August 2022 that the Ukrainian military had set up bases in schools and hospitals.
In an interview with the Economist, Stoltenberg suggested NATO allies should reconsider whether Ukraine could use Western-supplied weapons to carry out strikes on military facilities inside Russia's internationally recognized borders. However, Stoltenberg said at a session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly that there should be no NATO troops on the ground in Ukraine because otherwise, it would be difficult to keep the bloc out of the conflict.
