Congratulations to Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) for successfully hosting the highly anticipated 2023 edition of ADFinanceWeek (ADFW). Themed "Investing in The Transition Era," the event brought together global financial industry leaders, to discuss the UAE’s evolving “Falcon Economy” and the opportunities and challenges presented by economic, technological, and sustainability shifts. GULFSANDS CEO, John Bell and #GMEL COO, Rodolfo Rustria were delighted to attend and, in addition to the formal sessions, had the chance to have several enlightening meetings during the event. H.E. Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of ADDED and ADGM, highlighted the remarkable growth of the UAE's financial sector which plays a pivotal role in driving the UAE's economic diversification agenda. ADGM itself announced the establishment of operations by 14 major financial institutions, with a combined AUM of $452 billion, solidifying its position as a global finance hub. The region's largest hypermarket company is believed to have appointed Emirates NBD Capital and ADCB as lenders. Bloomberg reports that LuLu Group International has appointed banks to manage its IPO, which is expected to raise $2 billion. A planned offering is being coordinated by Emirates NBD Capital, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), Citigroup Inc and HSBC Holdings plc, with Moelis & Co acting as independent financial advisors. The listing is expected to take place in the second half of the year on Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange ( ADX). A LuLu international headquarters is located in the emirate.
