What is a Coaching Culture? “Coaching is a predominant style of managing and working together, and where a commitment to grow the organization is embedded in a parallel commitment to grow the people in the organization.” (Clutterbuck and Megginson, 'Making coaching work', 2012) Exploring the world of coaching culture brings us to both its advantages, backed by research and the hurdles that stand in the way of achieving an ideal coaching culture environment.  This week, we embarked on the journey with the first cohort of leaders pursuing coaching certification, and the journey to develop a coaching culture started. We were excited to have an open and meaningful conversation about these challenges and discuss ways to overcome them. It's an educational opportunity we're proud to be a part of. The following are some of the indicators of a coaching culture that were discussed: Not only the WHAT but the HOW ·       Working towards building Trust and Respect ·       Engaged in open, honest and supportive conversation ·       Non-judgmental attitude ·       Shared purpose, clear goals, responsibility, and accountability ·       Being an enabler, not a blocker ·       Demonstrating a mindset of possibilities and focusing on Solutions ·       Common Coaching language and practice We are continuously encouraged to measure the effectiveness of our Coaching programs.
