We bring in undergraduates from around the country. They come here for a research experience every summer. They're here for several weeks where they work in a laboratory closely with our researchers doing real Cancer Research. It's hate internship, so it allows people to make money in the summertime and it also gives them the type of experience that's really helpful if they want to go on to medical school, professional school, Graduate School. You're getting so much more hands on experience doing what you would be doing in your future career. I like to refer to myself as an aspiring. Data scientist with a strong interest in biomedical research and technology. My future career plans and goals revolve around working with biotechnological companies analyzing data. It's one thing to take classes and learn about it in the abstract, but when you're actually working on NIH funded project doing real experiments with successes and with failures, it really gives you an appreciation for what it takes to go on to a career in Research Institute is known for. Cutting edge research and contributions to biomedical sciences and students have the opportunity to work alongside scientists who are actually at the forefront of innovative discoveries and all these breakthroughs. And students also have these hands on experiences of technologies and just valuable resources that we do not have. Otherwise you don't do the same thing every single day, which is awesome being with people that I excited. Got new findings and who actually do embrace curiosity. That's been really amazing. It gives you sort of a real sense in some ownership about what research is, what are the things that go into doing a research project. Really important take away for me is that research is a very complicated process that requires keen observation, that requires thorough knowledge and if you want to be right at the center of a program that. Makes this a more rewarding and powerful experience. This internship is for you. It's making these kind of discoveries. It's something needs to happen, but you're making differences. It's really an exciting opportunity to expand who's doing research and getting to showcase our community. So we really do rely on this program. It's a it's a real jewel and a gem for what we do with this. In an environment where people push boundaries and actually excited about all these new discoveries, that your internship is definitely the great place for you.
