However, many parents are not aware of this resource or may not realize that the quality rating system addresses the dimensions of quality they care about. We often discuss the critical nature of the early child care workforce. Child care serves as a community asset that not only benefits a single child or family unit, but also promotes the well-being of entire communities. A sufficient supply of quality child care promotes economic development by 1) Enabling parents, especially mothers, to fully engage in the workforce, 2) Promoting employee productivity generally, 3) Preparing children for kindergarten and beyond, where they gain skills to become contributors to the state economy, and 4) Interrupting cycles of poverty and inequities created and upheld by injust systems. Shared with permission by guest writer Liz Bel from EdNC, this article highlights Primeros Pasos, an inspiring example of sectors uniting to bring greater child care opportunities for underserved communities across Oregon🫶 Read in full on our website or Substack today ⬇ https://lnkd.in/g8NDrP76

This stark reality underscores the critical necessity for enhanced public funding to tackle these issues effectively. If you know someone with a baby, chances are you know someone who at one point or another used or tried to use Early Intervention for proactive support in their child's development. Having more clinicians in this field is vital to getting new parents and families the support they need as early as possible, however clinicians can literally earn more money than they do in E.I. by working just about anywhere else - doing anything else. Every other industry and private organization has aligned increases with negotiations and changing circumstances - except Early Intervention. Do your small part to speak up for the tired families, educators, and clinicians fighting this fight.
