Pathways to Purpose is organized around four themes designed to connect students with post-secondary opportunities including: - Exposing students to colleges, careers and businesses. - Equipping students with soft skills, leadership and financial literacy training. - Empowering students with college and career mentoring, social-emotional support, career and personality assessments and ACT/SAT prep sessions. - Engaging students in internships, job shadowing, apprenticeships and community college events. The goal for each graduating student is that they secure post-secondary placement by enrolling in either college, military, or trade school. By earning a diploma and receiving preparedness training while in high school, students are more likely to earn admittance into post-secondary opportunities and succeed once enrolled. The post-secondary placement rate for Elevate Pathways to Purpose students is 73% higher than the average rate for non-Elevate students. https://lnkd.in/eMvxddYx

It's National Apprenticeship Week! This year's NAW theme is ➡ “Registered Apprenticeship: Superhighway to Good Jobs,” to reflect the prominence that Registered Apprenticeship has received as a proven and industry-driven training model that expedites the pathway into good jobs and improves diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) in the workplace. Registered Apprenticeship is recognized as a key strategy for improving job quality and creating access to good-paying jobs for all, including populations historically underrepresented like: ☑ women ☑ people of color ☑ individuals with a disability ☑ underserved populations, such as youth and young adults Apprenticeship addresses some of our nation’s pressing workforce shortages in teaching, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, cybersecurity, and other high-priority sectors. #nationalapprenticeshipweek #departmentoflabor

I am sure you will agree that year 11 students have got lots to deal with; Decisions about their next steps, focusing on exams, leaving school life as they know it, looking for work, prom.... the list goes on. Every Year 11 student has had at least one meeting with our Careers Advisor to ensure next steps are in place; how can we as parents and carers make sure we are supporting these decisions and plans? Here are some questions to be asking: - Is there a plan in place for September 2024? - Have you got a college application in? - Have you applied for Sixth Form? - Have you got a CV prepared? - Have you got an application in to any apprenticeships? - Are you aware of where to find opportunities? If they do not have any applications in yet they really need to be thinking about it as closing dates and deadlines are looming. Having applications in will also take pressure off and add focus to our students going in to their GCSE's improving results. If, as a parent or carer you are struggling to have these conversations, please arrange to meet with our Careers Advisor with your child and hopefully together we can put a plan in place.
