One thing that stuck with during a shipper conversation was ... "unfortunately it's still a world of who brings the biggest gift and I'm hoping that changes one day" ... I'm all for gifts and rewards but there has to be some boundaries ... if a carrier or broker comes in and buys the transportation Manager a ticket to Las vegas, I would assume that's a bit too much but hey it seems to still play a role in some shippers' decisions as to who to "choose" "fairly" who can meet service and price ... 😉 😜 I know one carrier who bought some huuuuugggeeeeeeeeee mega mega shippers with massive freight spend tickets to Europe for his entire family in order to get his entire freight spend. this carrier is out of Michigan. I know a broker who bought two tickets to Mexico for a shipper and his wife for a week vacation in cancun in order to win their domestic 🇺🇸 lanes strictly FTL. I know a shipper who asked a broker off the record "what's in it for me if I give you the business?" what do you think folks? should we have a budget to send our potential customers and existing customers to exotic places for pleasure in order to win business? #logistics #trucking #freightbroker #sales

📣 Mainports benefit from home carriers and dedicated terminals  📌 A survey of ten major container #ports in Europe, North America and Asia shows that the overall size of a carrier group is not always directly reflected in a carrier’s ‘traffic exposure’ to each port. 👉 Unsurprisingly, the world’s largest container line MSC, is in fact the biggest customer at seven of the ten ports surveyed.
