Excited to announce the Amazon Web Services (AWS)-The Knowledge Graph Conference GraphRAG Workshop event on Thursday, July 11 complimenting the #AWSSummit New York next week! Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications use generative AI to analyze private datasets that have been vectorized by AI/ML embedding models. But baseline RAG can sometime produce poor responses that lack explainability and issues that include conflated sources, spurious claims, and lack of contextual awareness. GraphRAG combines knowledge graphs with RAG to produce explainable responses that are grounded in the semantic relationships between concepts, entities, and the underlying content. It’s available on the KGC YouTube channel. Pierre Lévy is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Canada | La Société royale du Canada and a Research Associate at the Université de Montréal. He has published several books on the impact of information technology on society, which have been translated into a dozen languages. Notably, in 1994, he authored the first book on collective intelligence based on digital media. Additionally, Pierre is the inventor of the #IEML language, which proposes a calculable coding of meaning. Beyond academia, he serves as the CEO of Intlekt Metadata, a company specializing in ontology design. Keynote Abstract: What does it mean, exactly, to understand and to know? A comparison of cognitive processes in humans and animals will highlight the essential role of symbolism and language in human intelligence.
