It’s available on the KGC YouTube channel. Pierre Lévy is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Canada | La Société royale du Canada and a Research Associate at the Université de Montréal. He has published several books on the impact of information technology on society, which have been translated into a dozen languages. Notably, in 1994, he authored the first book on collective intelligence based on digital media. Additionally, Pierre is the inventor of the #IEML language, which proposes a calculable coding of meaning. Beyond academia, he serves as the CEO of Intlekt Metadata, a company specializing in ontology design. Keynote Abstract: What does it mean, exactly, to understand and to know? A comparison of cognitive processes in humans and animals will highlight the essential role of symbolism and language in human intelligence.
