Found this quite funny. I remember applying for a Forklift Operator role and recieved a phone call the next day for a quick phone interview. At the end of the interview, the consultant asked “do you have any questions?” to which I replied “Yes! What’s the main duties of the role please, other than obviously operating of Forklift” .. there was a silent pause, followed by afew “umm” and “aahh” … and then the sudden “It’s just your normal warehouse duties. It’s simple.” I don’t know about you guys but warehouse duties aren’t as “simple” as people may think. Operating a forklift in a narrow aisle alongside other forklift operators AND pickers, isn’t “as simple” as you may think. Constantly picking and stacking pallets 7.5hrs a day, 5-6x a week while keeping above KPI’s isn’t “as simple” as you may think. Managing the whole operations ensuring your ass doesn’t get chewed up by your HOD isn’t “as simple” as you may think. I love that NewWay Solutions have worked the floors and managed operations over the course of 15yrs, which gives us an in-depth understanding and firsthand experience on all things Supply Chain and Logistics. Our team know what we’re hiring for in the niche that we’re in and we all understand that there is nothing “simple” in Logistics. “Logistics is very simple” - said someone with zero experience! 😅 Anyway, Happy Monday 🙂

The Unlikely Adventure of a 12-Year-Old Forklift Maverick: In a peculiar incident that unfolded recently, a 12-year-old boy in the US managed to turn a typical day into a wild escapade. Seizing the opportunity, he boldly stole a forklift, leading law enforcement on a surprising hour-long chase. While this may seem like a storyline from an action movie, it raises questions about parenting, juvenile curiosity, and the importance of community vigilance. As we ponder the motivations behind this daring escapade, it's a stark reminder to stay attuned to the complexities of adolescence and the need for constructive outlets for youthful energy. In the 12-year-old's forklift chase, spontaneity and adaptability were crucial for law enforcement. Similarly, HR recruiters must embrace flexibility, recognizing unconventional talents that might not fit the standard mold. The unexpected twist underscores the importance of staying open-minded, as exceptional candidates can emerge from the most unexpected journeys. #recruitment #employerbranding #talentacquisition #recruitment #hiring #humanresources #jobsearch #jobopening #jobposting #interviewtips #employeerecruitment #employerbranding Ananta Resource Management CA Mukesh Solanki Sudiksha Sahu Deepali Rawat Sweta Ram Amrita p Vaishnavi Sistla Soniya Pal Thanima Jose

Meet Brandon! Brandon has been at NW Works for two years, serving as the Productions Supervisor in NW Works’ warehouse. Being able to help adults with disabilities progress through skill building and increase their confidence to secure a job in the community is what led Brandon to NW Works. Brandon’s favorite part of his job is the community he’s created with his associates. As Production Supervisor, Brandon oversees individuals who might not have made connections if it weren’t for their occupation. Folks in the warehouse check in, develop friendships, share meals, and become a community that compliments each other to create an excellent group of workers. Community and progress are two values that Brandon mentioned many times as an important and satisfying piece of his job. These items overlap in Brandon’s role when the people NW Works serves express an interest in warehouse work. Tasks can include labeling paint cans and assembling screw kits. As with any job, individuals may come in with doubts or low confidence on their ability to do tasks. A highlight of Brandon’s job is watching these doubts transform into skill development and confidence building. If you’re interested in working for an organization that is community driven apply on our website! https://lnkd.in/dHCGMPph

Careers have ups and downs and all arounds. We don't remember the downs, but we sure remember the good times. One of the best compliments I ever received from a customer came while I ran a log home company and a log home maintenance company years ago. The customer, Scott Alvik called in to order some maintenance products. I answered the phone and took the order. Scott then hung up and called the log home company to order logs. I again answered the phone. He asked, "What are you doing there?" I answered that I worked at both companies. I took his order and got the materials made for him. A couple of weeks later he visited our model to pick everything up. He walked in, and I loaded his log maintenance materials for him. We walked to the other side of the model where I took his payment for his log materials. After the transaction was completed he needed to travel to our mill across town to get his logs, but nobody at the mill was answering. I told Scott that I would go to the mill with him and load his truck. I also asked if I could eat my lunch in the truck during the drive. Away we went and I got all of his materials loaded on his trailer with our huge forklift. On the way back to the office Scott hit me with the compliment: "Dan, I have heard a lot of people claim that they do everything, but YOU ACTUALLY DO EVERYTHING AROUND HERE." I appreciated the compliment for the simple fact that somebody realized all that I was doing for the company and that he appreciated my efforts. So, what has been one of the best compliments you have ever received during your career? Either from a customer of from leadership? Let me know. I'd love to read the story. #compliments #customerappreciation #career #thinkbigger This is 100% Human Generated Content where a customer acknowledged all that I did to take care of his needs.

Warehousing | Assembly | Material Handling | Exploring Software App Devolopment | Open to Exciting Opportunities
Recently saw a job posting for a Forklift Operator job through a known staffing agency. It listed: "Compensation and Environment: $19.00 per hour Around $90,000 per year 60+ hour weeks available Large Growing Company! Benefits and Weekly Pay!" Math isn't my strong suit.. But I'm definitely not working 91 hours a week to hit 90k a year at $19 an hour. 90k a year comes out to $43 an hour (+/- a few bucks depending on OT and days off) in a 40 hour work week. About $29 an hour at 60 hours a week. What am I missing here? Is the staffing company just offering $19 an hour and pocketing the other $24 an hour? Is it false advertising? Will this staffing agency negotiate on the hourly to produce a quality employee for their client? Am I really, really bad at math or just completely missing something? #EmploymentSearchFrustration #StaffingAgency #Recruiters #RecruiterAgency
