Have you ever thought about the long-term impact of your leadership development investments? 📈 💡 A Global Fortune 100 firm conducted an in-depth longitudinal study in order to evaluate the ROI of its TLC investment as well as TLC’s impact on the company and individual leaders. The study concluded that leaders who go through the TLC Leaders Program have a faster career trajectory than those who do not. Specifically, leaders who completed the TLC Leaders Program have an 18 - 22% higher career velocity (including promotion) when compared to a lookalike control group of high-performing, diverse leaders. As this company exclusively enrolls participants from historically underrepresented backgrounds, its senior leadership team is diversifying at a faster rate because of the firm’s partnership with TLC. It’s always incredible to see how the TLC learning experience shapes and empowers leaders long after they leave our classroom. 🚀 Recently TLC Alumni Gary Stevens shared some invaluable reflections and takeaways from his time in our Leaders Program. It's been 16 months since I completed The Leadership Consortium (TLC) cohort, and the lessons I learned still resonate with me every day. As I flick through my notes and workbooks, I’m reminded that while I’m still working to put these into practice perfectly, these themes have become my guiding principles on my leadership journey. Here are the key insights that continue to shape how I lead: 1. Empowerment and Trust: Empowering everyone in the organisation isn’t just a strategy, it’s essential. Trusting and empowering the frontline creates an environment where people feel safe, valued, and motivated. 2. Vision and Strategy: A clear and well-communicated vision can transform an organisation. Leaders like Carlzon and Tessei show us that when everyone understands the ‘why,’ amazing things happen. 3. Adaptability and Innovation: The best leaders know when to pivot, experiment, and embrace failures as learning opportunities. 4. Inclusive Leadership and Psychological Safety: Creating an environment where everyone feels safe to speak up is essential. Open communication and collaboration thrive when psychological safety is a priority. 5. Overcoming Fear-Based Management: Leadership rooted in fear only leads to resentment and high turnover. Building a culture of respect and support fosters loyalty and boosts morale. 6. Data-Driven Decision-Making and Transparency: Trust and alignment grow when decisions are informed by data and communicated transparently. Keeping the team in the loop is crucial for shared success. 7. Change Management and Communication: Change can be difficult, but clear communication makes it easier. Consistently sharing the vision and reasons behind changes helps everyone move forward together. 8. Cultural Sensitivity and Globalisation: Leading in a global context means navigating cultural differences with empathy and understanding. It’s about ensuring everyone feels included, no matter where they are. 9. Building Trust through Authenticity, Logic, and Empathy: Trust is earned through a blend of being genuine, making sound decisions, and showing real care. It’s the foundation of effective leadership. 10. Motivation and Engagement: Understanding what drives your team, both intrinsically and extrinsically can elevate performance. Creating roles that offer purpose, autonomy, and opportunities for growth keeps people engaged and motivated. These themes continue to challenge, inspire, and guide how I lead. #Leadership #ContinuousLearning #Empowerment #TrustBuilding #LeadingWithHeart

Bring the joy! 🌟 In our TLC Team Agreements "bring the joy" has held its place on the list since its inception in 2018. Why? Because amidst the ever-changing, sometimes crazy times at work (especially in the times that feel a little extra chaotic) - it's important to find joy in the small things. If you're having a particularly hard time at work try these 4 steps to reconnect with your joy (trust us it works!) 🌟 Find your why: Reconnect with your passion and purpose by aligning your work with what brings you joy, what you are good at, and what the world needs. 🌟 Embrace a beginner’s mindset: Approach challenges with curiosity and openness, fostering a sense of wonder. 🌟 Sprinkle gratitude and joy like confetti: Actively recognize and celebrate contributions to build a supportive and cohesive team culture. 🌟 Fuel your joy: Maintain positive reminders and practice self-compassion to sustain energy and enthusiasm in your role.
