It's Teacher Appreciation Week! What are YOU doing to show your kids' teachers how much you value them? Don't assume they know it already. Or that hearing it once is enough. Here's the plan for my family... 👉 Send a note to each of my daughter's teachers with specific examples of what I appreciate about them or how they've helped my sweeties. 👉 Participate in the schools' Teacher Appreciation Week events. (Taking in candy for their candy "bar" and helping chalk the school sidewalks with words of appreciation.) 👉 Help our 5 and 7 year old daughters make their own notes to share with their teachers. Even if you only have time to do one of these things, that's AWESOME. Or maybe you'll do more! But do SOMETHING. #teacherappreciation #grateful

Our boy's 8-17 Summer Success Camp is scheduled from June 28th to July 27th this year. Are you one of those parents who sigh with relief when your child or adolescent leaves for your typical summer camp? We emphasize responsibility, self-examination, and the learning of positive skills to help a troubled or behaviorally challenged child better perform in school and with peers and family members. When we equip kids with the tools and encouragement they need to trust their voices, we’re giving them something powerful. It’s not just about speaking up in class; it’s about having the confidence to express themselves in every aspect of their lives. Whether they’re in kindergarten or high school, our kids need to know their voices matter. And that’s not just a back-to-school message—it’s an every-day message. I was fortunate enough to share my favorite things about Girls on the Run International at an International Women’s Day Fun Run/Walk with Women of the Wasatch in collaboration with Girls on the Run Utah. Here are some of my favorite things about Girls on the Run: GotR has served 2 million + girls across North America since 1996 and 17,000 in Utah since 2007. Independent studies show: 97% of girls learned critical life skills including resolving conflict, helping others, and making intentional decisions. 97% of participants agree they can be themselves at GotR. 85% of participants improved in confidence, caring, competence, character development, or connection to others. 40% increase in physical activity among girls who were least active at the program’s start. It’s a one of a kind program that focuses on the importance of the mind-body connection. Its combination of targeted lessons and physical activity instilling confidence and compassion in every girl. 🌟 Celebrating Love Teaching Week, Kim Normand Dobrin and Nancy A. Green led a vital development session for 60 educators at Baggett Elementary, focusing on emotional and professional resilience. In these challenging times, when educator stress is sky-high and retention rates are alarmingly low, it's critical to offer our educators a supportive oasis. This session was all about providing a nurturing space for educators to explore and enhance their emotional and professional resilience. The feedback was heartwarming: "I feel more centered for the year ahead." "I am better able to see where I need to find balance in my life." "I feel more supported." It's a testament to the power of personal development in creating a stronger, more balanced educational community. Let's keep supporting our educators, giving them the tools and the space to grow—not just as professionals but as individuals. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who shape our future.
