As this blog points out, talent acquisition (TA) was an early adopter of AI within the world of HR. I think the main difference in today's world that is hyper focused on AI is that there is now a lot of pressure to leverage AI wherever possible. There are three points in this blog that I found especially interesting (though it's all worth a read). 1) Skills-first hiring will become more achievable and how this contributes to more diverse teams. "If AI shows bias, it can be addressed and corrected (unlike, say, the unconscious bias of a human)." 2) Experiment with what works (and doesn't). "Because this is a time of experimentation, talent teams should be doing some serious A/B testing to see if AI actually drivers better outcomes." (This applies to other areas of HR as well.) 3) Implement guidelines for using AI. - There's a great example that lists IBM's foundational properties for AI ethics that's worth considering for your organization, especially within the world of HR. I keep seeing PR agencies make the mistake of hiring prompt engineers with no experience actually doing PR work. Whyyy? 1) Prompt engineers are no longer relevant - LLMs can write their own prompts better than any human can. 2) Unless you deeply understand the use-case, what is the point of someone who knows how to prompt AI to get a broad range of results. It's AI + a narrow focus that delivers value not AI + general use case humans. 3) Just hire smart, capable, problem solvers that are also PR consultants.
