How do Dutch cities differ from others when it comes to architecture and modern innovation? I highly admire the incredible well planned, innovative well thought and very high quality that goes behind Dutch city infrastructure. Netherlands and Amsterdam especially has some of the most crazy looking modern new buildings that look incredible from architecture perspective. In this incredible well made video, check the detailed thought and planning for a newly constructed neighborhood (Houthavens) which is one of the most expensive neighborhoods very close to Amsterdam city center (2kms away on west) Amsterdam is one of the most hot housing markets in Europe now, with next to impossible to find an affordable living space in a short time. It also happens that I happened to live on a big barge 60 meter boat of a Dutch friend parked in the waters here just next to the big tall [--] shaped building (mid left) here a few years ago for a couple of weeks when the first phase had just finished. I kayaked solo next to this tall building in my friend's kayak in these waters then admiring its presence. My first ever kayaking. I had no idea of this incredible plan behind this new neighborhood then. #city #infrastructure #urban #municipality #amsterdam

Do you know? #Berlin has more bridges and #waterways than #Venice or #Amsterdam #Venice is known for its bridges. There are 417 bridges in Venice, while Berlin is said to have up to 2100 bridges! This high number is not surprising, as Berlin is one of the most water-rich cities in Germany. Funnily enough, no one can really say how many bridges there are in Berlin exactly. Depending on the definition (water bridges, road bridges, etc.) one can count between 969 to 2100 bridges – a lot anyway! Known as the #City of Bridges”, #Amsterdam, Netherlands, has more than 1,200 bridges. Some are ancient structures, the oldest dating back to 1648, and some are new architectural feats. In a city with over 165 canals spanning 60 miles, it’s no wonder there are so many bridges. Many residents of Amsterdam live in #houseboats. While both Venice and Amsterdam are known for their canals, the capital of Germany has more water running through it then either one. As the city is nine times larger than #Paris, it is no wonder that there are 180 kilometres of #waterways in Berlin. The German capital and the surrounding state of Brandenburg together have Europe's largest network of inland waterways. With more than 3,000 lakes and 30,000 kilometres of rivers, #Brandenburg is the region of Germany with the most inland waterways and one of Europe's biggest destinations for water sports. #Hamburg has more than 2,496 bridges, the most bridges of any city in Europe - more than Amsterdam, #London and Venice put together. Besides the Hanseatic city's maritime history, the many rivers, canals and bridges lend to Hamburg's claim as the "Venice of the North". visitBerlin TMB Tourismus-Marketing Brandenburg GmbH #SolarYacht #SolarBoat #SolarMarina #HouseBoatYacht

UK Property Specialist - UK Property For Expats / UK Buy to Let / Income Through Property / Property for Pensions
Is the "race for space" coming to an end??? Post-COVID statistics show that more people are moving back from the countryside to city suburbs, as more people are returning to pre-COVID office life. This shift has also seen an increase in people moving from the suburbs and back into the cities into smaller size homes and apartments. This is great news for 2nd and 3rd tier cities like Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow as more businesses are relocating to these areas and more property developments are being built. APW Property have a large portfolio of properties in all of these areas and we specialise in helping expats who want to get on the property ladder or add to their current portfolio. If you want more information about how we can help you, simply comment with the word "expat" and I'll get in touch. #investment #property #dubai #hongkong

Spot the high rise A year on from the Policy Exchange report on Tall Buildings*, it was striking to see the Bordeaux skyline. The restrictions of their Immeubles de Grand Hauteur seem to have been applied rigorously in the huge historic core. Yet, Bordeaux thrives as an industrial and tourist city. Too late for some (London, Bristol, Manchester etc) to emulate it, but still time for others to see you can prosper without hauteur (Exeter, Norwich, Oxford, York etc). *A Policy Framework for Responsible High-Rise and Better Density
