Can competitors be friends and even Champions for each other? If we were to listen to a lot of the noise on this platform, that would probably seem to be almost impossible for people in the Transportation Industry ... Too many people are trying to set themselves apart by beating their own drums and putting others down (or trying to act like they are the only ones that do things correctly...) when in reality, that isn't the way things really are I attend conferences with some very senior Executives from very large corporations and watch "competitors" who are true, lifelong friends interact I love going to events like IMTS - International Manufacturing Technology Show and seeing "competitors" that are collaborating together (I think that industry does great at supporting each other to improve their industry as a whole) I follow so many people from the machining industry and love how they support each other and try to help each other out solve a challenge they are facing... I love having "Competitors" like John DeCIllo Gary Johnson Jason Rabine Kenneth Carter III Adam Spencer Esslie Davis and so many others that I can jump on a call with, shoot a message to etc and either just check on each other or collaborate on a issue One of my "Competitors" sent me this picture of one of our Bennett Family of Companies trucks "in the wild" - just as a way of saying hello... When we surround ourselves with other great people and focus on relationships over "what's in it for me", it is amazing how much better off we all are I love seeing my "Competitors" who are also great people succeed and doing great - that is how I know we have a relationship that is valuable Let's continue to build strong relationships that endure past where we each work or what job we each have - there is much more to life than just making money...
