We were thrilled to host our first #OER happy hour this week! It was amazing to connect with so many passionate and innovative open education practitioners. The energy was palpable, and we are grateful for the opportunity to build community and hear about the fantastic work happening across Los Angeles. Faculty from as far north as California State University, Bakersfield and as far south as San Diego joined us, their commitment to advancing open education was nothing short of inspiring. We believe it is critical to build community across campuses and can’t wait to continue fostering connections and sharing knowledge. Michelson Philanthropies founder and co-chair Dr. Gary Michelson and Alya Michelson announced today the donation of a historic $120 million to UCLA. This contribution will fund the California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, a key part of the new research park being developed at the former Westside Pavilion Mall in Los Angeles.
