OR You can choose to see it as customer service. And your results will reflect that. Whether you are right or wrong matters less than the action you take. Don't tell me to wait a business day to get service when I'm in the middle of a campaign with 3 hours left to hit my goal. Seriously. It's not fun to get into that situation. You can't manage what you don't measure. Just be sure you track the work that matters. If you focus on activity related to #donor engagement, the dollars will come. When you focus on dollars raised, you are prioritizing the expedient over the sustainable, which often results in donors not sticking around. If you only pay attention to one metric, it should be donor #retention. That will tell you how your donors feel about your work far more than dollars raised will. #fundraising #majorgifts #donorsnotdollars
