The North Carolina Rental Home Council (NCRHC) had the privilege of volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Our team, comprised of members from Bridge Investment Group, FirstKey Homes, Invitation Homes, Remedics Restoration Carolinas, and SVN | BlackStream, came together to sort and package food items. We look forward to our next volunteering opportunity and continuing our support for such vital organizations. #NCRHC #SFR #BTR #Housing #Volunteer

QCOSS is leading the ‘Make Queensland Fair’ campaign to shine a light on the cost of living crisis affecting everyday Queenslanders and the resulting increase in demand for front-line-services. Volunteering Queensland highlights that a direct consequence of the cost-of-living crisis is the worrying decline in volunteers who report that volunteering has become unaffordable. The increasing cost of living is undoubtedly a significant contributing factor in reducing the number of people who have the time or capacity to volunteer, as they instead require more employment to make up for an income deficit or simply don’t have the disposable income to support their volunteering. Given that close to half of all charities rely solely on volunteers to operate, it is essential the Queensland Government does all it can to enable volunteers to help those experiencing vulnerability and need in our community. Farmers employees in Grand Rapids are making a difference! They teamed up with Good360 to create 2,000 hygiene kits for SBP!! Good360 provides much-needed resources to underserved communities across the country, and SBP is one of Farmers key nonprofit partners with a goal of shrinking the time between disaster and recovery. We appreciate all our employees, Good360 for being an amazing partner, and SBP for their dedication. Together, we're making a positive impact! 💚 #WeAreFarmers #FarmersCares #FarmersGivesBack #LifeAtFarmers #DiscoverFarmers #giveback #CorporateGiving #corporateresponsibility #volunteer #volunteering #wecare #nonprofit #DisasterRecovery #community #volunteers #volunteerspirit #support #CommunitySupport #MakingADifference #GivingBack #CorporateCitizenship #Good360 #SBP #SBPUSA #DisasterResilience

Chief Financial Officer | Chief People Officer | Servant Leader | Team Builder | I help people and companies achieve goals!
Today felt like the perfect time to jump back into LinkedIn. The last 10-12 months have been quite a journey both personally and professionally. This post isn't meant to relive the last year but to encourage everyone that when your life is turned upside down unexpectedly, it can lead to wonderful outcomes. I found through prayer, reflection, and unwavering support from friends and family, what was initially something extraordinarily difficult became a true blessing. Some will notice I have a "gap" in my work history now. About 4 months. 4 months to jettison a lot of baggage, get my mind and body back to neutral (thank you Brendan Ferns for recommending Getting to Neutral by Trevor Moawad), and to dream again. 4 months to reconnect with my wife and start to make decisions that are focused on me and my family first, not what a job might dictate or require. Call it a gap or a sabbatical or whatever you'd like; I knew in order to be the best for my family and for wherever I chose to go professionally, I had to reset. In October of 2023 I got to meet with some of the team at Grubb Ventures. I wasn't sure if I was ready to come off the sidelines yet. Was I mentally ready? Did I complete my "factory reset?" A few things were clear that were critical to me: 1. The leaders truly cared about the people there. It wasn't lip service or just some core value splattered on a wall. 2. They believed the company was ready to make smart, strategic changes in response to recent growth (I like leading through change believe or not). 3. Grubb cares about the community they live and work in. I joined Grubb as its CFO in November (I know I'm late posting about it). And today we sorted and packed eggs at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC. We did it together. Just like we do each day at the office. I'm so thankful to the team at Grubb for choosing me. I'm grateful to everyone who supported me this last year, especially my wife and family. And while I know God doesn't ever have to reveal His plan for me, I'm blessed that He continues to orient my steps.
Volunteering in our community is one of the many ways #GVgivesback. This week, the Grubb Ventures team spent a busy morning at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC helping sort and package 7,000lbs of locally sourced eggs to share with over 500,000 members of our underserved communities in Central and Eastern North Carolina. #team #community

We often hear from leaders that their first taste of service came from volunteering. It is a powerful way to step into service and flex our service muscles. This story reminds us of the benefit of volunteering to those around us and ourselves. https://ow.ly/gYnp50PRH8a #volunteering #serviceleadership #foursimplewords
