The Future of Agriculture is Regenerative. 🌍
Sara Farley, Vice President of our global Food team, outlines three factors to ensure a seamless transition to regenerative agricultural practices:
📈Secure stable and lucrative contracts for producers
🔧Reimagine and rewire public support systems
💰Unlock innovative finance that is more fit for purpose

Saying it again for those in the back: "If we do not switch to a regenerative agricultural system, we will be in trouble as a species and as a planet- we HAVE to improve the food system". - Alexander Gillett
The United Nations has said that we could see a collapse of the global food system by 2050 because of the degradation to our soil by conventional, unthoughtful agricultural practices. Now more than ever, this is a conversation about putting people over profits; the world's population could be too big to feed itself in the next ~25 years if we change nothing.
That's why what HowGood is doing with our food and beverage customers is so important. We're not just creating a more transparent supply chain and turning sustainability into ROI (although that is a large part of it), we're building a truly sustainable global food system. I can't say enough how proud I am of the work our teams (Executive Leadership, Research, Product, Marketing, Engineering, Partnerships, etc.) and customers are doing. 💚

A great webinar coming up:
Harness technology to accelerate regenerative agriculture programmes to support sustainability ambitions, slash scope 3 emissions and build supply chain resilience.
Conventional agriculture contributes to almost a third of global emissions and also negatively impacts soil health. Agricultural supply chains need to decarbonise and preserve soil health today to ensure food security and build climate-resilient businesses of tomorrow.
This webinar will dissect how business leaders in the agri-food industries are using technology and regenerative agriculture programmes to advance their net zero programmes while supporting farmers.
From this webinar you will take away:
> How you can effectively implement a soil carbon programme and onboard farmers
> How remote sensing and AI can accelerate strategic decision-making
> Case studies of how innovators in the Agri-Supply Chain are utilising regenerative agriculture to make their supply chain climate-resilient

🌾 According to a recent McKinsey & Company study, U.S. farmers are facing challenges in adopting sustainable practices. The report also identifies some of the key factors farmers need to overcome these challenges:
📋Operational support to implement sustainable practices
💰 Transition financing to support changes
📊 Clear ROI assessments to evaluate impact
🧪 Access to knowledge
📈 Support for generating revenue from by-products

Agri-Access’ 20th anniversary presents a great time to look back at the last two decades of agriculture. Agri-Access examines corn production, the consolidation of dairy, and trade, and the trendlines are clear. Agriculture has become an even bigger, higher stakes business for individual producers. To thrive in today’s agricultural climate, producers require swift and scalable solutions from their lending source. In my role at Agri-Access I partner with you to help you provide your ag borrowers just that. https://ow.ly/JRVO30sBiFx
Last week we announced the first ever BECCS rating. Recently, we also published the industry’s first assessment of a regenerative agriculture project.🎉
🚜 Global food production accounts for approximately 26% of all greenhouse gas emissions. The need to mitigate emissions from this sector is urgent.
🌱 Regenerative agriculture offers a promising solution by not only reducing emissions associated with food production, but also by enhancing soil carbon sequestration for long-term sustainability.
Learn how ratings provide market participants insight on the strengths and risks of these project types, and can help unlock finance in this rapidly expanding sector: https://hubs.li/Q02zPgwH0
