New study on microbiome and cats. I'm not sure to agree with the assertion "While mostly undetectable to human noses" :-), but the most interesting part is that the chemical compounds in scents that are used to communicate have profiles that correlate with microbiome composition (look at fig 3 from original paper https://lnkd.in/egAW3nVu ). In short: cat communication is related to their intestinal microbiome (which happens to vary a lot between subjects).
