Social media will soon be the number 1 channel for time spent and in an attention economy that matters ⏰👀 I’m pretty sure this change was predicted to happen in 2025 by many data organisations but it looks like it’ll happen in Q4 this year. WARC reports social media is expected to surpass search and TV, becoming the largest media channel worldwide. This change reflects a broader trend: individuals under 45 now prefer social media over linear TV, with younger generations, particularly US Gen Z, spending up to 9 hours weekly on TikTok and nearly 8 hours on Instagram 🤯 I mean noone’s asking “Should my brand be on social these days?” but if they did my answer would be “Today if it didn’t happen on social.
