I recently applied for 25 jobs on LinkedIn, which represents just 1% of the available openings. Despite several interviews, many applications ended in silence or rejection. In a recent interview for a rotating equipment expert role, my maintenance experience was questioned, despite its crucial role in installation and commissioning. It’s important to note that over 95% of jobs are filled through internal networks or referrals, with many positions never openly posted on LinkedIn. This system can disadvantage skilled professionals, as influential positions often prioritize internal connections over external applicants.
