A lot of comments about the defending video I posted earlier this week on Dan Burn... Here's another example of getting those details right on the training pitch from Eddie Howe at Bournemouth. Defenders dealing with long balls: Slight push off to unbalance opponents, adjusting your feet, reading the flight of the ball and then momentum to create height and distance with the clearance. Not rocket science in terms of the information but always good to re-visit and pinpoint to players at all levels.

Two #pickleball player rating systems have come to the forefront now that #USAPickleball have phased out their UTPR system. Instead, they've partnered with UTR Sports, a newcomer to pickleball with a lauded history in tennis. UTR will manage ratings for USAP-sanctioned events, tournaments, leagues, and recreational activities. This news comes just a week after #DUPR, the other prevalent rating system, announced a similar partnership with UPA (the newly formed entity overseeing the #PPATour and #MajorLeaguePickleball). It is good to see USAP ripping the band aid off and making a decision to go with something other than UTPR. However, it feels like we are in for another battle with UPA siding with DUPR and now USAP choosing to go with UTR.
