Reflections following a week of PDAs for the nursing profession.... There is a generational trauma and lateral aggression within nursing that keeps repeating and training behaviors that have led to the flames that engulf us and leads to burnout and compassion fatigue. We have succumbed to the manipulation and gaslighting by management and administration and it's time for change, boundaries, and non-negotiables. I'm ready to redefine what Nursing CAN be, to collaborate with others on how we can enact measurable change within our industry. Not only to advance nursing as a profession, but to also nurture and retain those that enter our profession while supporting our teams as we heal and learn how to break free from the cycles that landed us where we are. I believe we CAN change nursing for improved patient safety and care outcomes, and to create healthy work environments. I believe we CAN be reimbursed more than adequately for the skilled, evidence - based, quality work we deliver. Who is with me? And where do we begin?
