Today, 31 years ago, Jim Valvano passed away. We are taking today to honor him and his legacy. The mark he has left on all of us is irreplaceable. We thank him for his integrity, inspiration, and love.

My dad took my brother and me to meet him and he was very welcoming even though we basically just walked unannounced into his office.

I well remember being in a business setting that day and someone walked in and delivered the news. Fighting back tears, I had to excuse myself. A life very well lived though and he will NEVER be forgotten!

I was at Seaworld Orlando last week with my bride, son, and grandaughter. There was a veteran in a wheelchair in line in front of us with Jim's famous words "Don't ever give up" on the back of his T-shirt. Instantly brought back memories of meeting Jim and working with Nicole over the summer in RTP shortly before Jim's passing. Remarkable man and remarkable legacy. Thank you for the inspiration... still vibrant decades later!

I was shocked when he passed, even though it was known how grave his condition was.

The definition of Legacy, an individual who touched so many in a positive way while living. He continues to be an inspiration of how to live and how to respect the time we have together. Jim continue to be the light.
