I’m thrilled to share a recent accomplishment from my PepsiCo Sales Simulation Certification Project. As part of this project, I took on the role of a Sales Manager and successfully tackled a real-world scenario that involved securing an incremental display for the new Doritos Flamin’ Hot Cool Ranch flavor ahead of the Superbowl. Here’s a snapshot of what we achieved: 🔍 Situation: We identified a fantastic opportunity to boost our Doritos sales by securing an additional display at a Big Box store. Despite initial resistance from the store manager, we persevered and turned a "no" into a "yes." 💼 Planning and Execution: Product Order: Secured a delivery of 400 bags of the popular Doritos Flamin’ Hot Cool Ranch flavor. Scheduled Setup: Planned the display setup for the following Wednesday morning to ensure everything was perfectly timed for the Superbowl rush. Team Collaboration: Provided additional support to our Sales Representative, Amari, who was feeling overwhelmed. By coordinating extra team members to assist with the setup, we ensured a smooth and efficient process. 🤝 Leadership and Support: I focused on using my leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and support Amari through this busy period. By breaking down tasks, offering clear plans, and ensuring Amari had the support needed, we turned a challenging situation into a successful outcome. 📈 Results and Impact: Last year, our strategic displays led to the sale of over 2,110 bags of Doritos during the Superbowl period. This year, with our enhanced display strategy, we project selling approximately 2,400 bags, contributing to significant market share growth for Doritos. This project was a fantastic opportunity to apply strategic thinking, leadership, and teamwork to drive sales and ensure customer satisfaction. The 3 men who showed up to be with me pushed their limits and found that they are stronger and more resilient than they thought they were. ⚔️ But, what did I do Friday? 😜 - Took a call on a customer parking lot - Measuring & pics at customer warehouse for renovation project (yep, we do that!) - Supplier lunch w/ a great partner 🥗 - Close out and week ahead planning One of the best things about sharing my 100 days journey and my goals 👉 Instant, real accountability. Late to post, last Friday our Leadership team came together for our monthly Leadership meeting. Always taking the time to develop our team, and Inspect what we Expect. It was Shoppers report review as well. Huge shout out to so many of our teams for delivering an exceptional first visit for new prospects. After shopping some big competitive brands in TX, OK, MO, and NWA, I have to say. I’m so glad we regularly inspect what we expect. Here’s some entertaining laughs from shopping some big brand competitors….I won’t say the brands names. But the responses caused some laughs. 1. “What’s this Red Light therapy you offer?” - dazed and cofused gym employee: “it’s the new tanning with no heat” 🤪 2. In regards to a CryoLounger in a recovery room - “what’s this?” - Clueless employee: “it’s a massage chair”. 😜 3. The anti sales person of a huge brand - “don’t join this club, we have a much better one down the street, go there” 🤷♂️ 4. GlenGarry Glen Ross sales person - “join for 24 months and you’ll save $xxx.”, me: “but what if I need to cancel”, “just come see me, I got ya”. 😂 5. Me upon walking in: “I’d like to see the club and get pricing” - Front desk human placeholder: “it’s not my job, leave your keys here so I know you won’t steal a dumbbell and go walk around.” No DGW, nothing! Upon returning from my self lead tour…”how much are memberships?”. Front desk human placeholder: “you can go online.” 🤪 6. “There’s no members in this Recovery Room, do people use it?”, Employee response: “actually I’ve only seen our employee in here on break.” 😴 7. “How come there’s only 2 Group Exercise classes today if y’all have 7000 members.’, (during the tour we were told 7000.) General Managers response… “the Group ex people don’t like to work and we go by their schedule”. 🤪😜😝 Inspect what you Expect! Always!
