🌟 Exciting Times at the World Bank Group Youth Summit 2024! 🌟 I am thrilled to share that I had the incredible opportunity to attend The World Bank Youth Summit 2024, held from May 30-31 in a hybrid format in Washington DC, and online. This year's summit, themed "Powering Progress: Youth Leading the Digital Transformation," brought together thousands of young leaders from around the globe to discuss and explore digital inclusion, AI, and sustainable technology. The Summit's mission was to: 1️⃣ Empower youth to explore innovative ideas that tackle development challenges. 2️⃣ Provide youth with the tools to build and engage in impactful projects. 3️⃣ Promote dialogue between youth, the WBG, and other key stakeholders globally. During the event, I was inspired by the diverse and dynamic discussions on harnessing artificial intelligence for global progress, the future of work in a digital economy, and sustainable technology solutions for a livable planet. It was an honor to engage with like-minded peers, learn from industry leaders, and participate in meaningful dialogues that will shape the future. Special thanks to the World Bank Group and the Youth Summit Steering Committee for organizing such a transformative event. After a rigorous application process, I am glad to have been chosen to attend virtually the annual World Bank Youth Summit held in Washington D.C. in May 2024. Together, we delved into important issues such as Digital Access and Inclusion, Artificial Intelligence, and Sustainable Technology for a Livable Planet. These topics are very relevant to Africa, where many people still lack access to digital technology. Improving digital access can help bridge social and economic gaps, providing more opportunities for education, healthcare, and employment. By focusing on inclusion, we can ensure that everyone benefits from technological advancements. For startups, the summit highlighted how Artificial Intelligence can be used to create new solutions for local problems. AI can help businesses become more efficient, provide better services, and reach more customers. Sustainable technology is also crucial, as it allows startups to grow without harming the environment. This is important for building a future where economic development goes hand in hand with environmental care. Personally, the lessons I learned at the summit are valuable for my daily life. Embracing digital tools can make everyday tasks easier and more efficient. Understanding the role of AI helps me see how technology can improve our lives in various ways. Adopting sustainable practices is essential to ensure that our progress does not come at the cost of our planet. Overall, the insights from the World Bank Youth Summit provide a roadmap for using technology to improve inclusive growth and environmental sustainability, benefiting both personal and professional aspects of life. #Worldbank #Worldbankyouthsummit

✈️🌎 Last week, I flew to Washington D.C. to attend the World Bank Group Youth Summit  2024! I am honoured for having been selected as one of the 300 delegates out of more than 4,000 applicants! It was a privilege to learn with and from fellow young people from all around the world, as well as inspiring leaders who are building innovative solutions, better policies and galvanising ideas. 🤖 This year’s theme “Powering Progress: Youth Leading the Digital Transformation” focused on the use of technology as a potential tool to solve today’s pressing development issues. I engaged in conversations related to digital access, artificial intelligence and sustainable technology. I also collaborated with a multicultural team to solve a case designing a policy solution that advanced to the finalist round! ⭐️ I am committed to incorporate all these insights into my work as an analyst, educator and future scholar. #Connecting #InvestInWomen My daddy taught me to never underestimate the power of instant connections <3. And I have soooo many beautiful stories to tell you about this life lesson. For instance, little did I know last October that a random yet friendly chat with Hailey Eustace on a bench at Sifted summit would become an exciting gathering for women in Paris next March 21st! A gathering about what? So many so-called "impact" topics, whether femtech, sustainable food, circular economy, waste reduction, clean energy, access to clean water, rely on: - systems approach and cooperation - change in individual behaviours, - infrastructure investments, - and... some breakthrough technologies which remain to be created in labs, or exist already but need to be deployed at scale. In that domain like many others in innovation and finance, women are active and do amazing things, but there could be more... Today, we are excited to bring together a community of women who are making waves in the deep tech industry, along with cohosts Joanna Koczuk , Dounia BELGHITI, PhD, Sophie Winwood, and Avisha Patel, kindly supported by HSBC Innovation Banking.  We hope attendees will be inspired and become more involved in deeptech as a whole.
