PhD candidate, Purdue Chemistry | Ultrafast Optics | Semiconductors | Perovskite Photovoltaics | Renewable Energy
Excited to announce that the first project I embarked on upon joining grad school has finally made its way to print, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share it with you! In the midst of the ongoing global energy crisis and environmental challenges, there's an urgent need to harness solar energy to its fullest potential. The pursuit of novel semiconductors with superior photovoltaic capabilities to outperform silicon is crucial, and perovskites emerge as promising candidates. In an effort to understand the fundamental photophysical properties of perovskites, we investigate how tuning their energy landscape enables us to engineer distinct excitonic states, fostering diverse charge and energy transfer dynamics across their organic-inorganic interfaces. We report the observation of quantum tunneling driven triplet energy transfer in the Marcus-inverted regime - a phenomenon that has not been experimentally observed in perovskites before! Hope you enjoy reading our latest work! #sustainableenergy #perovskite #researchmilestone #solarpower #purdue https://lnkd.in/dENdbnRj

🌊 Exploring the Future of Renewable Energy: Tidal Turbines 🌊 As we propel towards a sustainable future, tidal turbines emerge as a promising frontier in renewable energy technology. These underwater turbines harness the power of ocean currents to generate clean, reliable electricity. Here's a glimpse into the fascinating realm of tidal energy: 1️⃣ Technology Development: Tidal turbines represent a leap forward in clean energy innovation. By converting kinetic energy from tides into electricity, they offer a reliable and consistent power source. As advancements continue, we're witnessing the evolution of more efficient turbine designs and deployment techniques. 2️⃣ Energy Efficiency: One of the key advantages of tidal turbines lies in their high energy efficiency. Unlike some renewable sources, tidal energy is predictable and consistent, providing a stable base load power supply. This reliability makes tidal turbines a valuable asset in our quest for sustainable energy solutions. 3️⃣ Challenges and Implementation: Despite their potential, tidal turbines face several challenges on the path to widespread implementation. Environmental considerations, such as marine life impacts and site selection, demand careful planning. Additionally, the upfront costs of installation and maintenance require strategic investment and support. It is our role as engineers to face these challenges, collaboration between industry, governments, and research institutions is essential. By addressing technological barriers and regulatory hurdles, we can unlock the full potential of tidal energy and drive progress towards a cleaner, greener future. Let's harness the power of the tides to build a more sustainable tomorrow. 💡 #RenewableEnergy #TidalPower #CleanTech #Sustainability
