👉 Achieving net zero doesn’t hinge on moonshot scientific breakthroughs, but rather the mass scaling of existing technologies and implementation of new technologies that will speed our path to zero. To do that, innovators must lead the way. Here are three takeaways from our latest report:

I really believe that the biggest opportunity for technology innovation to help nature is in finding ways to prevent the harms that we're currently causing through our business activities. Just like for climate tech, we need to turn off the tap, not just measure or mop up the mess. I'm pleased to see that reflected in the shifting definition of #NatureTech described in this new report (on page 10).

🔮Our top 3 predictions for climate tech in 2024🔮 2024 has well and truly arrived and with it, we have looked into our crystal ball at our top 3 predictions for 2024: 1.📊 Investors and customers are going to be under all-time high pressure to combat greenwashing. This pressure will be passed onto climate tech startups and scaleups requiring them to validate and verify their emissions and broader impact of their products and technology. Startups that are unable to provide credible, quantifiable life cycle data will experience restricted access to capital. 2.💰There will be more capital flowing into the sector, but it will not close the funding gap. Innovative financing options will emerge from the private sector through debt finance and concessional finance through the public sector. 3.🍃 The 'nature positive' agenda has arrived with the passing of Australia's Nature Repair Bill 2023. This will see the establishment of the voluntary Nature Repair Market that will reward landholders for protecting biodiversity and enable private finance to repair and protect the environment. We expect to see a lot of startups emerge in this space and substantial growth opportunities for more established players. 👉If you want to learn more about the standard expected by investors and customers in 2024, read more at themelt.io
