Those who pass by the site of a new health campus in Oshkosh will notice a great deal of action. The combined health system of Froedtert ThedaCare Health, Inc. broke ground on the health campus in March 2024. The campus aims to expand convenient access to care for those living in Northeast and Central Wisconsin. “It is encouraging to see the positive progress taking place at the Oshkosh campus,” said Jennifer Nikolai, vice president of new Community Hospitals in Fond du Lac and Oshkosh. “By creating this campus, we can continue improving the health of those living in the area by offering convenient care to more of our communities.” The campus is located at 250 W. 6th Avenue on the Fox River in downtown Oshkosh. For decades, the site was vacant due to soil conditions. Teams worked with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to learn more about this specific site in Oshkosh along the river. Read on to see what structural elements were included and plans for the health campus' future. Since the groundbreaking, construction partners including Hplex Solutions as the owner representative; HGA as the architect and engineer; Miron Construction Co., Inc. as the construction manager; and the SIGMA Group as the civil engineer and landscape architect, have been actively working at the site. Why don’t we do satellite offices that patients can get to easily first for appointments or telehealth visits after first few initial visits if stable. We need group education from all staff members for different patients so they are aware of what is going on. We need quick assessments that they will be taught to write up. Thorough assessments should follow by management staff after supervision or full review. Everyone should know about patient and look up any details that they need. If we have staff from rural communities working we need them taught correctly and given time to read and understand and learn by reading daily. They need to get further education and move up in other hospitals. Finally they need to move to more challenging industry work and really teach the next level of staff. Maybe you can get lower level staff to fill in when you need. The more we teach nurses quickly and then later teach nurse practitioners and then industry staff and management and leaders. It’s a necessary step. Even current curriculum development at nursing level in rural communities and nursing college or anywhere. We can do a remote teaching model too. But they need continuous challenging so they go back and teach as management

The best way to see the progress is along the river walk, as the street in front of the new hospital is closed.

We need hospital staff that is management at higher levels so their kids can move up to appropriate level positions earlier. It’s sad that they don’t care about their kids starting salaries
