Throughout November and December, we held a food drive in all 3 TFS Arizona locations. We're pleased to announce that thanks to our amazing community, we were able to donate enough food to provide 512 meals to those in need in Phoenix through St. Mary's Food Bank! 💚 Thank you to everyone who donated food in those months of giving! #community #cannabiscommunity #phoenixaz

Transportation is a significant need for many people. Think about donating your car to a Community Action Agency. #MN is a vast state where individuals may not have mass transit. 45% of the state's residents live in greater #MN, where a vehicle is necessary. Receiving a donated vehicle could have a major impact on a person's life when it comes to getting to work, medical appointments, or even the grocery store. Vehicle donations are tax deductible. Community Action Agencies like Minnesota Valley Action Council, United Community Action Partnership, Inc., Tri-County Action Program, and others accept donated vehicles. Visit minncap.org, find an agency in your area and see if they're willing to take a donated car. #MinnCAP #CommunityAction #BeCommunityAction #Advocacy #AdvocacyWorks #FightingPoverty #Nonprofit #Donate #Donation #CarDonation #NationalCarDonation Month #Transportation #HelpingPeople #ChangingLives

There are lots of ways that you can help us to help vulnerable people in your community. Our Empowerment Fund is purely for costs that aren't covered in project pots - it's for things like home furnishings to make our houses more comfortable; it's for transport to appointments; it's for clothes for interviews and it's for those all-essential food parcels in an emergency. Your help can make all the difference. Expert Educator of Presentation Skills, Public Speaking and Communication | Coaching, Training and Facilitation #Glossophobia, #messaging, #storytelling, #presence, #leadershipskills, #improvskills, #interviewingskills
Last week, my family spent a couple of days up north helping my husband, Don Riedthaler and the Ignite Northwest team, in their company’s test kitchen make and package meals for hungry kids. Between Don and I having worked decades in the restaurant industry, owning a restaurant of our own and having Don (aka Dad) as the primary cook at home, we have an abundance of food surrounding us, especially around the holidays. It felt so good (thanks to the powerful happiness hormone, oxytocin) to spent time in service to others. In the process, I noticed 3 benefits that parallel the neuroscience research in this article written by Brian de Lottinville https://lnkd.in/ggG4wUY3 1. Synergy 2. Cooperation 3. Connectedness More benefits observed: 1. Empathy 2. Laughter and play 3. Conversation 4. Future strategic planning and decision making It’s no wonder companies invest in team building where bonds can be formed. Though, upon reflection, the experience of helping others (for me) trumped some of the more prescriptive team building activities I’ve witnessed or participated in (karaoke bars, and escape rooms come to mind). What has your experience with team building been, and what are the possibilities for designing these opportunities with others in mind? If neuroscience fascinates you too, check out this article by Ritvo who writes about the neurochemical drivers of happiness: Dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin make up the Happiness Trifecta in this article: https://lnkd.in/gqrX5QDA
#hungry #children - Two words that should never go together! Did you know that 1 in 8 children in #washingtonstate face hunger every day. None of those children make the choice to be hungry… Ignite Northwest prides ourselves in doing our part and giving back to our community, and this year we partnered up with Shawn Walton and #StLeosParrish with a commitment of 100 prepared meals…but little did we know that when we asked some of our local business partners like Jeff Winter w/CMA, who donated $500! and Jason Wirth with Bargreen Ellingson who donated a SUV full of to-go packaging and apple juice, we would be pushed to make more than 100 meals. Inspired by Jeff’s donation, I personally matched his gift and we now had $1,000 towards to purchase of food and supplies to make over 300 MEALS!!! A special shout out to the team at Ignite, specifically Ryan Devereaux who donated two days of his time to help make these delicious meals, and my wife Janell Payne and our family who also pitched in to help out! We are now devoted to make this an annual event and next year, stay tuned as our next #goal is 500 meals between #thanksgiving and #christmas #givingback #foodserviceequipment #foodbusiness #hunger #childrenshealth #foodbanks

CCO @Grace & Green | Improving access to sustainable period products | Championing period dignity for all🩸Coaching | Consulting | Mentoring | Founder @Seed to Oak
When I joined Grace & Green in 2022 as Head of Growth, my very first presentation to the Board was about how we took what had been created in Period Dignity and use this to have a much wider impact on both the business and the world of work. How would we make Period Dignity the market leader (with very little money to spend to do so)? I don't have enough space in this post to work through exactly what I set out in that meeting, however it boiled down to: ✌ Understanding the impact we want to have: It's always been about more than supplying products - Education is woven into the threads of Period Dignity. To achieve period dignity we need access to information, availability of products and acceptance within workplace culture - we designed our offering and continue to develop everything we do around these pillars. This was summed up perfectly by a client (John) who said "Grace & Green don't just supply a product, they create a CULTURE". Exactly John. ✌ Remember who we are and why we are doing it: Unsurprisingly, the workplace space has and is becoming more competitive. This is excellent news, as more businesses embrace free period care as a basic right, and especially comforting how many are choosing a more sustainable providers. As now Chief Commercial Officer, it's also mildly stressful (mildly 🙃 ). However, dignity continues to be about more than avoiding getting caught short, it's about embracing inclusivity and supporting our Members to deliver dignity for all, no matter of age, gender identity, or how they experience their period. There's still a long way to go, and we've got SO much more coming here... ✌ Treat every customer like they are absolutely making our day. This is perhaps a small business mindset, or when many of the team have done almost every job in the company. We all remember the THRILL of winning our first big contract, the DELIGHT of walking into a shop and seeing our products on shelf, or randomly walking into the bathroom BEAMING seeing our products. We don't take for granted the fact we get to be in people's everyday. (For me this has never worn off, my heart still skips a little when I process an order, receive a tender award notice, or see a customer talking about us on socials.) Particularly grateful for our team for supporting our phenomenal YOY 120% growth, for challenging, pushing our vision and positioning, and for being excellent. I'm incredibly proud of what we and our members are doing to drive inclusivity, awareness and dignity within their workplaces and educational establishments. I can't wait to see what the next two years can hold. Happy Birthday Period Dignity. x
Two years of Period Dignity 🎉 It's #WorldMenstrualHygieneDay and we're celebrating two years of making periods dignified and accessible for everyone. Since launching, our Period Dignity scheme has helped over 400 businesses, schools and public institutions provide sustainable period products to those who need them most. Together we've: ❋ Supplied 9 million free-to-access sustainable period products ❋ Delivered 9,800+ free period packs to those who need them in partnership with local councils ❋ Stocked 60+ universities and schools with Grace & Green products ❋ Donated £97,000 worth of period products to charitable organisations, including local food banks, in 2023 alone. Thank you to our community and incredible partners and supporters for making helping us make a difference. Check out our visits to New Cut Coffee, BIMM University, OVO, Watershed, and Wiper and True. Thank you Honeywell Bakes for our beautiful birthday biscuits.
