For the past three years, I've had a front-row seat to an unprecedented period of history. On the first of March 2021, Tech.eu founder Robin Wauters took a chance on a person he'd only ever known prior as a photographer. He had no idea if this person could dive into and understand the intricacies of what moves, shapes, and defines the European tech ecosystem, much less string a narrative together and present it to an audience in a way that made it relevant. I'll be forever grateful to Robin for his rolling of the dice. I can not truthfully say that each and every component of what makes our ecosystem tick is fully understood by me, but thanks to countless industry professionals who've been patient, kind, and truthful, I've hopefully managed to convey my learnings along to you through the medium that was Tech.eu. It's been my honour and privilege to uphold the duties bestowed upon me, chronicling the triumphs, failures, near misses, and big wins across the European tech ecosystem in some 2,600+ articles. However, the time is right for a change, and thus, this past Friday was my last day with Tech.eu. As the Greek philosopher Heraclitus is credited with saying, "The only constant in life is change," so too must we all. Meliora.

You've done a tremendous job of injecting energy and identity to the Tech.eu brand. Digging deep into the stories, adding a dose of humour-entertainment, and always with integrity. Already from the beginning as a writer, but especially notable later as Managing Editor. That's something that readers from across the tech and startup spectrum will agree on. It's a loss for the tech media world, hopefully you'll stick around in the industry! Good luck for the next chapter, though I'm sure you're gonna kill it!

Finally rid of quotes from ancient Greek philosophers 😂 Dan Taylor with your multitude of talents, you took as much of a chance on me 3 years ago as I did bringing you on board at Tech.eu. Will always be grateful for the energy and wit you brought to the table, my friend. Handled the responsibility with great panache, as they say, and it was a lot of fun, too! I don't even need to wish you all the best, I believe you'll go find it either way. "Happiness belongs to the self sufficient." - Aristotle

You really catapulted yourself into tech journalism (of the non-photographic kind) with gusto and instantly made a mark. Really looking forward to seeing what's next....

Absolutely devastating news 🫂❤️🩹 Let's face facts: tech media’s gonna miss your spice 😭 But I am sure this won't be our last encounter 🫂

All of the best to you, Dan, and thanks a million for the great reporting and editing (with sprinkles of humor). I always appreciated that you were approachable and responsive, especially to founders pitching their stories for the first time, even if the coverage choice was a "not this time." Looking forward to hearing what's next, but, hopefully, first a little R&R, I hope!

Idiot. Aka serial entrepreneur in medtech, fintech and innovation management. Compliance guy? Yeah, strange story :)

Was always a pleasure to work with you Dan, both in photography and as one of the most invested and properly curious tech journalists I've met. The field needs more of your kind, not just the regurgitating workers one often comes across ❤️ Very sad to see tech.eu lose you, and hope you feel like keeping the vocation up!

I honestly cannot thank you enough, Dan Taylor. I am so grateful for your keen editorial sense and ever-sharpened quill. 🪶 Rather excited for your future and I look forward to more exchanges ahead. See you in London soon, amigo.
