Nothing lined up for the summer? Here's what you can do⬇️ I am incredibly grateful to have secured an internship for this summer, but last year or even last semester I had no internship/research/job secured and wondered what to do with myself to maximize on the time and level up🎮. So if you're like me, and want an idea of what you can do to, here some ideas: #1 Take on a personal project - come up with an idea and follow it through! create a project for your portfolio, have fun with it.🌟 #2 Join a group of likeminded individuals - Find a summer hub or club near you! use this time to connect with your peers, the Rewriting the Code summer tech hubs or Ciara Cade 's The Tech Cadets are a great place to start! #3 Attend events and Network - Now that you have the freedom, attend events and network! Build relationships with founders, executives, and employees at companies you love👌 #4 Take a summer class - Level up on coursework and get ahead of your classmates by taking a summer course at your school.📚 #5 Learn a new skill - while projects can help with this as well, you can take the time to learn a new skill that will make you valuable in the eyes of employers or even to start your own side hustle! Highlights: $20 Million Grant: This program boasts an impressive $20 million grant, dedicated to connecting students and employers across Nebraska. The reimbursement amount per eligible employer is a maximum of 50% of eligible internship expenses up to $7,500 per eligible intern. Overview: The internNE, Powered by Aksarben initiative is focused is on creating elevated internship opportunities for 11th and 12th-grade students, college attendees, and recent graduates from eligible educational institutions including nontraditional training providers.
