Ensuring safe travels this summer with Brominated Flame-Retardants ☀ As we embark on our summer holidays, safety remains a top priority. Brominated flame-retardants (BFRs) play a crucial role in ensuring the innovative materials in trains, ships, and road vehicles meet strict international fire safety standards, protecting us while we head to our holiday destinations ✈️🚄🚗 In passenger aircraft, where space is confined, materials are flammable, and a a large amount of fuel is carried, BFRs are essential to ensure a high level of fire safety. Similarly, in trains and cars, BFRs ensure that seat covers, fillings, and panels remain fire safe under daily thermal stress. Discover more on how bromine keeps our journeys safe at BSEF 👇 https://lnkd.in/eJFfd8Pb LANXESS Albemarle Corporation ICL Industrial Products #TravelSafe #Innovation #Bromine #FireSafety #SummerTravel

Deeply concerned at the non-evidence based approach being taken by the NZ government to speed limit setting. The evidence on the positive impact of putting in place survivable 'safe system' speed limits is incontrovertible. The non-median-divided rural road network was never designed for 100 kmh. 80 kmh limits on this part of the network will save lives and reduce serious injuries.
The Global Road Safety Partnership endorses the Australasian College of Road Safety statement on effective speed management. When mean vehicle speeds rise, road trauma increases. 📈 When mean vehicle speeds reduce, road trauma reduces. 📉 Read it here: bit.ly/3VKbuLJ

if a “smoke, fire or fumes situation becomes uncontrollable”, the flight crew should consider an “immediate landing/forced landing”. An Immediate landing/ forced landing” implies immediate diversion to a runway if there’s any within quick reach. However, in a severe situation like uncontained fire, or in case of all engines failure; the flight crew should consider an overweight landing, a tailwind landing, an off-airport landing, or a ditching. In those cases sending MAYDAY with pilot intentions on emergency/ guard channels is the main responsibility of the PIC.

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, reminding us of the importance of road safety and responsible driving. In 2021 (most recent data) there were 3,522 people killed and an estimated additional 362,415 people injured in motor vehicle traffic crashes involving distracted drivers. As leaders, we prioritize the well-being of our staff and their families. Road safety plays a vital role in protecting our staff and our communities. Distracted driving, including texting, calling, or eating while driving, significantly increases the risk of accidents and injuries. Let’s all commit to maintaining focus on the road, not just for our safety but for the safety of everyone around us. Together, we can make a difference and contribute to reducing the hazards associated with distracted driving. Let's lead by example, promoting a culture of safety and responsibility both within and beyond our organizations!
