💡 Reducing direct carbon emissions isn't always the easiest task, especially for energy-intensive sectors. 📉 In the journey to netzero, there is the current hot topic of tackling supply chain emissions. These rely on reducing direct emissions from suppliers. This is particularly challenging for hard-to-abate sectors. 🤝 Reason enough for members of The Shift vzw/asbl to join forces and take a closer look at the challenges present and the opportunities at hand to face them. Yesterday marked a new beginning for The Shift asbl… Right where it all started nine years ago at BEL'ENVIRONNEMENT, Magali Frankl got to kick off the next chapter of our network: 💪 Increased impact: through working groups, we aim to foster concrete action among members and drive the much-needed change towards net-zero, fair, nature-positive, and inclusive models 👂 Amplified voices: our members will have a louder voice, reflecting the narrative of a new economy and showcasing its possibilities amid a polarizing debate of inaction 🤝 Leveraged partnerships: we will join forces with partner organisations to accelerate the transition to new socio-economic models Over the years, our network has gained credibility within the Belgian ecosystem. We are known for building connections and creating a safe space for constructive dialogue among businesses, NGOs, and public and academic institutions. This will remain unchanged. However, in the rapidly evolving sustainability landscape, The Shift needed a shift. The call to do more, both inside and outside the network, and to take a clear stand could no longer be ignored. Starting now, members can take a more active role and even lead certain activities or initiatives.
