We just had the pleasure of meeting our 3rd winner from Clearwater Analytics, Kaitlin Friedman! 🌟🎉🎁 Kaitlin's nomination from one of her teammates, Peter Johnson, melted our heart. "Kaitlin is my team lead and is hands down the best. She always goes above and beyond to make sure I succeed, without being too micromanag-y or pushy. She also deeply cares. [Kaitlin fights for her team so hard even when it goes] against the grain, [she even] made sure I had all the resources I needed to still succeed despite going through such a tough time. You can tell she truly cares for those working for her, and everyone she interacts with at work. She puts everyone on her team in front of herself, leading from the front, and I can't think of someone more well deserving." Congrats Kaitlin for all that you do: fighting so fiercely for your team, going against the grain, and so much more! It's people like you that make other people that make a difference in the world! ------------ If you work with someone who shows up and shows out, nominate them today! They could possibly be the winner of our last Adventure Prize Pack, and be one our finalists to win our fully loaded staycation. Nominate them today using this link: https://lnkd.in/gWaXBKcB #SOLVsaysthanks #giveaways #adventureprizepacks #swag

I use to have a “Little Wins” dinner every Thursday with two of my friends. We’d go around the table celebrating our wins for the week — no matter how big or small. Because research shows that recognizing our achievements, even little ones, can boost: ✅ Mood ✅ Motivation ✅ Productivity ✅ Performance Sadly, these dinners stopped when we moved to different cities. But I still find ways to praise my progress. Here’s one way: 1.) Create a table with a column for: ☑ Date ☑ Achievement ☑ Opportunity (made available by the achievement) ☑ Metric(s) 2.) At the end of each week, write down 3 (or more) achievements 3.) Celebrate yourself! This method has helped me: ✅ Land corporate promotions ✅ Gain courage when experiencing self-doubt ✅ Recognize progress on my entrepreneurial journey ——— Our brains are designed to look for problems. That’s why we dwell on failures more than achievements. But don’t be so quick to discount your progress. Comment with a win you’re celebrating this week. So I can cheer you on. 👏🏼 *Here we are celebrating our wins at a winery on CA's Central Coast in 2017.

One of my favourite tactics for celebrating wins and giving your team recognition that is meaningful to them: Email a summary of the win to your own boss, perhaps even the CEO of the company, and cc your team member(s) who is responsible for the win. If your boss or CEO isn't a natural replier to emails, back channel a message to them and ask them to reply and acknowledge the win. It means more to your team that you'll ever realise to get recognition from those above you.

Had an amazing breakfast with a friend and mentor— he’s an RVP that still personally produces because he enjoys helping the “right client.” We chatted about titles and how everyone has different perspectives about them. We chatted about ideal clients in both of our spaces. (We’re in different industries.) We chatted about the feeling of validation and the sense of accomplishment you get after closing a deal. It made me realize, that I too, enjoy the same thing. Winners like to know they’re winning. How do you know you’re winning? And even further— How does your team know they’re winning?

You may have a seen a post I shared a few weeks ago receiving an award and wondering why it took me a year to celebrate that win publicly (this photo is from that same event). Upon reflection, I've realized that my hesitance to celebrate is part of a larger pattern. I have never stopped to really celebrate my wins. I am guilty of constantly moving on to the next thing dismissing past achievements as if they were mere steps on an endless escalator. The win, once it's in the rearview mirror, somehow loses its sheen because it's "in the past." I cannot be the only one who is like this. Am I? Help me out here. But I am coming to understand that celebrating our achievements isn't about living in the past; it's about recognizing the journey and the growth that comes with each milestone. Many of us, myself included, are wired to look forward, to chase the horizon. There's always a new goal, a new challenge. And while that drive is valuable, it's equally important to pause, look back, and honour how far we've come. Our wins, big or small, are not just trophies to collect but reminders of our resilience, hard work, and the support we've had along the way. Even in writing this I know I will still find it challenging to do, so, I'm making a commitment to not only chase the future but to also honour the present and respect the past. I endeavour to celebrate my wins, to savour the moments of success, and to appreciate the journey because the future is never guaranteed. Will you join me in this practice if you have battled this same malady?

It’s a new week, let’s celebrate our wins 🎉🎉 In the hustle and bustle of our professional lives, it's easy to get caught up in the pursuit of big achievements and monumental milestones. But today, I want to take a moment to tell you to use this as an opportunity to celebrate something, either a big win or a small win.🏅 Why? Because every win, no matter how seemingly insignificant, deserves recognition and celebration. 🏆 Whether it's landing a new client, completing a project ahead of schedule, championing a successful project ,or simply overcoming a challenging task, these victories are the building blocks of success. They may not make headlines or attract widespread attention, but they represent progress, growth, and resilience. 📈 Celebrating our wins, big and small, is not just about patting ourselves on the back. It's about cultivating a positive mindset, fostering a culture of appreciation, and fueling motivation for the journey ahead. So, let's raise a toast to all the types of wins we've achieved, and let's make a commitment to celebrate them every step of the way. Because in the end, it's the little victories that add up to make a big difference. Here's to celebrating success, no matter the size and have a wonderful week ahead. 🥂 #CelebrateWins #SmallVictories #BigVictories #PositiveMindset

Championing more than just victory! 🏅 Winning gold is incredible, but true success is celebrating with all friends, winners or not. Watch as we stand together, proving that friendship isn't just about winning, but about lifting each other up. It's also a testament to the values instilled by her family. Grateful for their support and the lessons that got us here. 🌟🌟 #friendshiptriumphs #celebratetogether #teamwork #pride #sharedsuccess #evolvemarketing #digitalmarketing #marketingagency Evolve Marketing

On the heels of a fantastic National Championship win by Michigan – Go Blue!! – I wanted to share my deep appreciation for the late, great Wolverine Coach Bo Schembechler and his 1983 "The Team" speech. It is short but inspiring and rings true for me. Here is just a little excerpt: "… there's gonna be one Team that's gonna play solely as a Team. No man is more important than The Team. No coach is more important than The Team. The Team, The Team, The Team, and if we think that way, all of us, everything that you do, you take into consideration what effect does it have on my Team? …. We're gonna win the championship again because we're gonna play as team, better than anybody else in this conference, we're gonna play together as a team. " As a leader, I believe that if I prioritize my team’s development: above self, above the metrics, the outputs, above optics and all the politics that could creep into our daily work - that achieving the goal naturally follows. I know this is not a popular view, especially in fundraising where the dollar goal reigns supreme. Many years ago I, was not hired for a director of development position because I stated this when asked if hired, what my top priority should be. Even though they shared that the short-staffed team’s morale was beyond low and needed help getting on track, they wanted to hear that dollars would be my primary driver. How might a team reach an ambitious dollar goal without knowing what the “why” is, nor have a clear path to achieving the goal, without training, without being in the “right seat on the bus,” without a strong culture of trust, without out shared knowledge or values, nor agreed upon practices, without knowing that their leader is behind them 100% personally and professionally? Prioritizing the team, building an impenetrable culture and showing up for one another as professionals and as humans even when it’s hard, gives my team the security to go out to our donors and our community as the most trained, most prepared, most passionate advocates of the Conservatory’s mission. They are supported, challenged, they take risks and sometimes don’t hit the mark but do it without fear – together we learn and improve. That team culture is how we have handily beat our annual goals by six or seven figures each year. And that is why I don’t regret what I said in that interview. I stand by it. The Go Team! pennant pictured above was a gift everyone on our development team received from our newest teammate who joined the team in October. How validating and heart-warming it was that she read our culture so perfectly! The Team. The Team. The Team! Good luck to us all as we work toward our goals in 2024, but for me and my team, we are more than that annual dollar goal. Much More! Go Team!
