I think this could also lead to a to-be-or-not-to-be question - do you think theme parks are mainly built for hardcore fans (thus details are critical) or rather more for general guests (who in most cases appreciate more about the general feel instead of every little detail)?

The winds of change are blowing right through Walt Disney World Resort. Here's the latest updates coming to your favorite Disney parks.

Here is Walt Disney World's latest campaign - This Is Magic. I'll be taking a page out of Julian Cole's social media playbook and break down and share how I would have gotten to this creative: Target audience - Tourists and vacationers who want to experience something real. Consumer problem - Consumers typically won't travel to a theme park for authentic experiences because theme parks can be viewed as inauthentic or commercialized. Insight - While the word "magic" is often associated with fantasy and fiction, everyone has real experiences that can be described as real magic. Proposition - Show potential guests that a vacation at Walt Disney World fits in with their definition of "real magic". Consumer goal - To discover and experience their own definition of real magic. By taking all of these things, the strategy statement would be the following: Get tourists who want authenticity in their vacations to visit Walt Disney World by showing them that authentic, magical experiences happen there all the time. In my opinion, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts has long been the most ambitious #experiencedesign organization on the planet. Heres's fascinating piece from Fast Company (pay wall) arguing that the quality of the experience is diminishing. Some is due to uncontrollable factors--#climatechange and #covid--but there's evidence here to suggest that Disney is taking its eye of the ball. The Disney Way ! -°Dream, Believe, Dare , Do ! Sometime in 1923, exactly 100 years ago, When a young artist was struggling to get his first filmmaking business off the ground, he borrowed $500 from an uncle. The uncle insisted on repayment in cash rather than taking an ownership interest in the venture, for he didnt believe in the business model or the vision of the young artist . That young artist, Walter Elias Disney, went on to advance the demanding art of animation to new heights and founded a company based on such sound business principles that it has survived for a century and has influenced virtually every aspect of American culture. Hindsight, of course, has a well-deserved reputation for startling clarity, and we don't know if the uncle lived long enough to feel a full measure of regret. But had he opted for stock in the Disney Company instead of a cash repayment, the return on his $500 would have amounted to almost more than a Couple of billion of dollars from 1923 to the present. How did a boy born into rather modest circumstances in turn-of-the-century Chicago accomplish so much? Legend has it that Walt Disney explained his success this way: "I dream, I test my dreams against my beliefs, I dare to take risks, and I execute my vision to make those dreams come true."
