It was a great experience to be part of the Panel Discussion in the SAIL LEO (Learning from Each Other) Workshop amongst the dignitaries from HR fraternity of leading CPSEs. It was my pleasure to share my experience and interact with HR fraternity as well as learn a great deal from eminent fellow Panellists Mr. Ayush Gupta, Director (Human Resources) of GAIL, Mr. K K Singh, Director (Personnel) of SAIL and moderator Mr. Ashish Kaul of SHRM India. I strongly believe that such gatherings of HR professionals from CPSES help connect and get insight into the best HR practices across CPSEs. Shared my inputs on the topic of “Strategies for incorporating youngsters in Public Sector Companies in present time, Attracting Right Young Talent, Means to make the workplace more engaging and productive, How to prepare talent for Technology upgradation, How PSE can have better collaboration across aross the sector, How do leaders today prepare for the current workplace”. I am of the firm view that the intent of leadership is important. Conduct is better message than verbal message Objectivity and transparency and informed decision making are the keys for the leaders to gain trust and credibility amongst the workforce. Treat the workforce the way you want to be treated. As a PSU organization, to be relevant in the business, decisions are to be taken if appropriate without any fear. At the front of onboarding right talent, it is essential to first decide what kind of manpower is suited for your organization.
