We need to hire a D365 consultant. What is the going rate? There is no 'going rate'. What is useful to some may be useless for others. What is expensive to some may be invaluable to others. Not all consultants are created equal. Some fix £500,000 issues whilst others fix £5,000,000 issues. Would you pay the same for each? Unlikely. #microsoft #d365 #dynamics365

2 of the biggest hiring mistakes I see D365 end users making currently are... 1) Over investing on developers. I see companies routinely hiring 3, 4, 5 internal developers when realistically they might only need 1. The workload is not there so random requests are welcomed from here, there and everywhere to satisfy/justify. 2) Hiring functional staff by title rather than skillset. D365 is built on a modular framework yet time and time again I see end users hiring 'analysts' or 'consultants' without the specific operational skillset they require. Knowing D365 is one thing; knowing specifics within the operational modules that company has chosen to use is completely different. And then there is the biggest mistake of all.... Not hiring any internal expertise at all. #microsoft #d365 #dynamics365

Are you even ready to hire an internal D365 resource? It's the most common question I pose to end users. Because the reason for hiring often starts at something like 'We need a D365 specialist as we are about to go live on D365 and don't have D365 skills internally'. To put it bluntly, this is the same as walking into a car showroom and stating 'I need a car because my old car broke down and I need to drive'. Like cars, D365 professionals come in many different 'shapes and sizes'. #microsoft #d365 #dynamics365

M365 Administrator | Database Admin (DBA) |Technical Support Specialist - MongoDB, MySQL, MSSQL, Exchange-Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure Active Directory...
Hello Family, I've decided to give back to the Microsoft 365 Support community by sharing resolutions to typical technical issues I handle daily. Supporting Microsoft customers globally in Asia (APGC), North America (NOAM), and Europe (EMEA), I aim to provide valuable insights. If you find this helpful, kindly engage by liking, commenting, and sharing. I'm Joshua David, a Technical Support Engineer/Microsoft 365 Administrator/Cloud Engineer with four (4) years of experience assisting Microsoft 365 customers worldwide. Specializing in the Microsoft 365 concierge space, I resolve issues across a range of products like Exchange-Online, SharePoint-Online, Teams, Active directory, Azure/Entra, Security and Compliance, Office365 applications (web and desktop versions), Windows OS, PowerShell scripting and more. Note: It is assumed that my audience (YOU) are a support Engineer or an M365 administrator. I will try my best possible to post the resolution of a typical customer's issue every week. Lab setup: All tests will be executed in my M365 tenant -- 5lhxsd.onmicrosoft.com. What I do: A typical day for me includes the following: 1. Log-on to my cloud-PC/virtual machine. 2. Sign into Dynamics 365 (similar to Zendesk/Jira…) 3. Go through my backlog (previous cases): checking for customers responses, replying to customers, calling the customers that need calling, closing some cases (having received the consent to close the case from the customer), escalating some cases (to the Senior Escalation Engineers -- SEE) that is beyond my support jurisdiction. 4. I then go available to pick more cases/tickets for the day (we are encouraged to pick a minimum of 4 cases/tickets per day) 5. After picking the tickets, I proceed to call or email the customer (depending on the customers preference) to resolve the issue. We typically use Microsoft Quick Assist or Microsoft teams to share the customers screen ONLY. 6. If I get to resolved the issue, I get to request for a start rating (1 star to 5 star -- depending on the customer's experience). 7. I do the above for 8-12 hours daily (depending on my mood). A typical work shift is 8 hours though. Stay tuned for more… #Microsoft365 #Office365 #TechnicalSupport #CloudEngineer #M365Admin #Azure #outlook #support #microsoft365_admin #technical_support #Microsoft #Windows #Microsoft365 #CareerGrowth #Recruitment #JobSeekers #CareerOpportunities #InclusiveHiring #TalentAcquisition #Sales #CustomerExperience #CustomerService #Troubleshooting #JobSearch #RemoteWork #OpenToWork #SupportSpecialist #upwork #customersupport #customersuccess #technicalsupport #virtualassistance #CRM

Microsoft partners are struggling to hire senior level D365 talent. And this creates a massive problem for them and their customers. Whilst a junior consultant with a high utilisation rate might be the golden goose with the fatter margin....they are nothing without experienced seniors around them. Who can be parachuted in when shit hits the fan? Who is at the end of the chain of escalation for the most complex of issues? Who is accountable for the training and mentorship of said juniors? Who is more likely to have encountered an issue that will derail a project? Who would you put in front of your most demanding client? Who's profile do you use when trying to win a project against a competitor? Whilst the bulk of revenue might not come directly from senior staff. Indirectly it does. Could you really justify the rate you charge for the B team without having the A team waiting in the wings to intervene? This is why I predict that a higher % of senior D365 talent each year will move to independent contracting. And eventually end users will wise up to this and put more money on the table for senior level SME's. #microsoft #dynamics365 #d365

❓ Why hire a D365 F&O contractor? ❓ You've established that you need some more support with your D365 F&O system, and now you're weighing up your options: ❓ Hire a new employee? ❓ Hire a contractor? ❓ Use your Microsoft Partner? Here are the benefits of a contractor: ✅ Specialized expertise dedicated to your system, with a more flexible/short term commitment than a new employee ✅ Costs (sometimes significantly) less than Microsoft Partner support ✅ Bespoke skillsets available as and when needed – rather than looking for 5 skillsets in 1 person for a FTE, you can mix and match skillsets with contractors depending on project phase and requirements If you're interested in discussing how a D365 F&O contractor could help your team, drop me a message!

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐎𝐧-𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞?! Some of my customers reached out with a quite uncommon request: Due to last week's outage of Microsoft and CrowdStrike services a redundancy of email communications services is requested. The idea is to use Veeam Backup and Disaster Recovery (Veeam Backup for M365) to restore Exchange Online mailboxes to an On-Premise Exchange infrastructure as the technical description says "restore to a different location" is possible. Is it? And can this be a solution for customers? I posted about this in my blog: https://lnkd.in/eTzCfXYd 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭: The source is a Microsoft Exchange Online environment and not a hybrid deployment!
