Today I'm excited to announce IKONA Health's partnership with Lifeliqe to bring XR education and training solutions to our partners across the US kidney care market, starting with dialysis. This partnership aims to address key barriers in kidney care’s ongoing shift to value-based and in-home care delivery. Despite early signs of progress following regulatory and payment tailwinds in recent years, adoption of home-based therapies remains well below national goals and international peers. A lack of access to effective, scalable education and training solutions continues to stand in the way of this effort. We believe these same tools would not only address critical gaps in care and resource burden, but accelerate a shift towards the levels of adoption, retention, and ongoing support we all strive for on a daily basis. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 An all-in-one learning platform opens up several near-term opportunities to tackle some of kidney care’s toughest challenge from staff training to home adoption and retention: • More Patients are Facing Kidney Failure • Patient Fears of Self-Cannulation • Low Uptake of Home Hemodialysis • Dialysis staffing challenges • Training Gaps in Home Modalities • Patient Transition & Retention Learn more about the data around these barriers in the press release below. If these issues resonate, we'd love to hear from you. 📰 😎 https://bit.ly/3vS8MZR *** Sending our thanks to Matouš Tlapák, Michal Mizerák, Mark Andersen and team Lifeliqe for your partnership, passion, and product vision. The future is brighter thanks to what you've built and what we'll do together for patients and kidney care teams across the globe. #healthtech #innovation #virtualreality #startups #medtech

Can clinicians that are still working clinically contribute significantly to the healthtech industry? 𝐖𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐄𝐒. Having now spoken to over 110 healthtech start-up founders via Adopt-A-Doc, we know first-hand that clinical experience and expertise is in great demand. 🤔 The common sentiment is that you have to leave medicine to be able to play a significant part in HealthTech. And while that is true in some cases, I believe that we have not yet tapped into a vast reservoir of potential: 👩⚕️ 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. 👨⚕️ __________________________________ 💡 Fun fact. Out of the 20+ paid piece of work we have delivered, every single start-up we worked with were looking for 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 who understand the pathways in which they are hoping to innovate in. 😄 And rightfully so, 1. Only a #clinician who is embedded within a system and undergoes the pain points daily will be able to articulate clearly what the problem is. 2. It is so much easier to get anything done within the #NHS with a clinical champion on the ground. 3. There is a huge element of credibility and legitimacy that comes with working with a highly experienced clinician. ☝ 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞. __________________________________ But there are definite challenges when it comes to tapping into this resource. 1. Clinicians are really busy and are naturally sceptical. 2. Both parties don't speak the same language. 3. There are tangible risks for both parties. At Adopt-A-Doc and Medical Consulting Group, we exist to tear those walls down brick by brick. 😖 Worried about consulting indemnity? ✅ We got you covered for every job you do with us. 😖 Worried about speaking to dodgy start-ups? ✅ We personally vet every single founder that comes our way. 😖 Worried about doing more paperwork? ✅ We sort the contracts, scheduling and payment. 𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠. 🤗 If this resonates with you, do consider joining our ever-growing clinical consulting network! Healthcare innovation advisory services. Researcher in the emotions and experiences that shape human behaviour.
I see a lot of health tech, but what looks super interesting here to me is the co-location of a software startup physically IN a GP practice. Not only reminiscent of my pop up immersion studios, but also a new angle through the conversations in community engagement and coproduction. Proximity is a form of power. #healthcareinnovation #design #immersion
What’s the bet that this little startup inside a NHS GP practice can have more positive impact on primary care with £2.7m than the next government? ☺️ We’ll come back to this post in 4 years time and compare some measure of: - NHS staff time saved - Patient time saved - Capacity added - Patient satisfaction - Any new popular metric that’s spun up😇 We’ll prove that where you choose to work, matters more than who you choose to vote for 🗳️ This is us canvassing for you to vote with your time, and take seriously the proposition of working with us. When you work inside a GP practice everyday you realise that NHS staff are in desperate need of tech that works. That’s what we build. In a few short years we’ve built critical infrastructure that 10% of practices in England rely on. This is just the beginning. We’re dedicating our lives to serving primary care. Why? Because it’s chock-full of hardworking people who care deeply about doing the right thing. People who’d push themselves to the point of breaking, not for status or for money, but to serve. That’s the kind of people Pete and I want to be - people who serve. If that’s you too? We’ve got 5 open positions for a range of roles from Software Engineers to Support Specialists. We’re looking for people of great talent, ambition and heart 💙 Please apply 👇🏽 https://lnkd.in/eYtRzxSg 🙏🏽Gratitude 🙏🏽 We’ve come this far thanks to the hard work of many not celebrated in a glossy financial news peice. "Today's #primarycare is not sustainable. That's why #startups, #healthplans, #healthsystems, #physician groups, and more are all innovating in primary care." Not to mention that four of the top six US corporations by revenue, #Walmart, #Amazon, #CVS/ #Aetna & #UHC/ #Optum are all focusing huge investments on primary care. Currently most healthcare in the U.S. is delivered via “fee-for-service” arrangements. Providers are paid for each service: an office visit, a CAT scan, surgery, etc. In a value-based care (VBC) model, one of the most promising approaches to addressing the healthcare crisis in America, providers are instead compensated based on outcome. VBC radically changes incentives — or shall we say, flips the script — for healthcare providers. Major healthcare entities are embracing this change, driving a potential transformation in how care is delivered. Norwest Principal Irem Rami, investors Suraj Shah and Sam Lesser, and senior advisor Unmesh Srivastava are bullish on the promises of the model and the enormous opportunities it presents for healthtech entrepreneurs.
